Delicious tapas, cold beers but terrible service, I challenge anyone to get served even just a beer within 30 mins, shame as we would have loved to try more of their food.

If you sould like to eat the most delicious Spanish food, visit this place. I have no wolrs about this! Th pulpo was frenetic, the other seafood is… colinary experience… the staff are ver friendly and kind. Ok, they don’t speK English but who’s care!
Popular restaurant, but not especially good food. Just normal, nothing special. I don’t understand why it’s so popular. The service is awful, it’s almost impossible to order and the same to pay. Find another place.
We celebrated a birthday meal at El Rastrillo having not been back for a year, (we live in France) and once again we enjoyed the friendly authentic atmosphere. We were the only Brits in there, which made it even better as there were plenty of...locals. We chose our meat from the fridge and it was presented on a very hot plancha, so we could all cook to our personal preference. A really good way to spend a lunch time. There is also an extensive wine cellar, so lots to choose all round. Another on our list of return visits.More
Brilliant food, very Spanish and full of locals. Just a great meal, friendly service and really good all round.
We were with some friends who have been going here for years. The restaurant has a new menu every day which is a daily menu. This consists of 3 course dinner and wine for ONLY 10 Euro. All the dishes were incredible. We first got...a wonderful Paella that tasted heavenly. The portion was like a main course. For main course we got spare ribs which were incredibly tender and good and finally we got coffee and ice cream. The food was absolutely fantastic and at an amazing price. The atmosphere was absolutely magical. Inside the restaurant, there are many large Iberika hams, wine bottles and boxes stacked along the walls. It's like taking a trip back in time. Fantastic. Many local residents visit this restaurant every sunday to eat good, cheap local food with family. I highly recommend this authentic wonderful restaurantMore
This is one of the best meals I’ve ever had. Set back from the beach front and near the bus station, it’s full of local Spanish folks. To say the food is the best we’ve had, is an understatement. My two pieces of advice are...to tell the staff the size of portions you like. Then sit back, listen to the locals chatting and enjoy the quality and service of what is one of the best tapas bars I have enjoyed in 30 years!More
Amazing tapas, some of the best I’ve had on my travels in Spain. A very lovely experience, no tourists and only locals
Got fooled ordered tapas .. got full dish....they tricked me. Happened before. When you are a gringo. So the tapas cost 32 euro!!!!! Thought they had changed... but not
Ordered tapas. Got in full portion. So the "tapas" cost 18 euro!!! Only for 1. So they took advantage of ous to be "gringos" Had vine here before. Cheap.. But had not expected to be fooled when ordered food. Sorry to say but have heard...of other people experienced the same.. So be careful when order. We are living her.More
This tapas bar is a must.It is very near the main bus station. We had 5 different tapas (too many)2 would have done as they were very large. Our best one was the stuffed aubergine followed by the meatballs. The Service was first class ,when the...waiter realised we had ordered too much he took what was left and put it in plastic containers for us to take with us...When you enter this restaurant there are hams hung from the ceiling and wine in every space,it looks very Spanish ,You won’t bed disappointed hereMore
I first visited El Rastillo many years ago when I lived in the area and visit at least once whenever I'm back in Torrevieja. It's a tapas bar and restaurant located close to the old bus station and is, without doubt, one of, if not...THE, best value tapas bars in town. The choice is vast, ranging from patatas bravas to small knuckles of lamb, all at incredibly low prices. It's a lovely atmosphere with hams hanging from the ceiling, cases and racks of wine and olive oil scattered around and photos of the owner during his days in the plazas de toros. The family has run the place for a long time (moving into town from the coast road some years ago) and have provided me with some of my most favourite and best value eating experiences.More
We saw this restaurant on a market day (Friday) and it was completely full. So we arrived later to have dinner and managed to get a table in a front part of restaurant. There You sit with old men and women watching them to chat...and enjoy life. The families andgroups were in the back part. In the front part there are old wine bottles, jamon serranos hanging around, olive oil bottles and cans. Staff does not speak english but it doesn't matter. There are load of different dishes in the casseroles and You may point what to choose. Don't forget their salad. You have to ask it (ensalad) and it is huge and fresh. And the prices are very nice. We visited many times , had salad, 2-3 courses, wines, coffee, brandys by 25-40 euros. I really recommend! I did not give five stars as the back part is not so nice, the food is still excellent.More
On my first visit I had the Menu del dia. Paella for starters followed by calamares and a sweet of flan a caraf of house red and a carajillo to finish. Typically Spanish and absolutely delicious. Very good value too. I visited the bar on...three further occasions and had a wide variety of tapas, jamon. boquerones, queso, calamares, tortilla and several different ensaladas. All excellent. There's also a wonderful selection of quality wines at unbelievably cheap prices. I bought two bottles of Rioja for just six euros. The atmosphere is great and we were made to feel very welcome by our host Juan. I can't wait for my next visit. I highly recommend this Bar Restaraunt.More
Jamon legs, piles of wine bottles, loads of tapas, bulls, old fellows fooling around... It is as Spanish as it gets and already because of that worth the visit.
