This beach front restaurant is worth a visit. Was at the restaurant to celebrate a friend's birthday. She had selected various plates for us to share - Coca a la Calda, Salad Caprese, Eggplant cake, Fried Fish Platter, Grilled Meat Platter, Grilled Octopus - Everything was delicious! Service was also very good. Recommend it.

We have been coming to this restaurant every year for the past 10 years for lunch mainly, and dinner occasionally, however, this year the salad was much smaller and hardly any chicken in it at all which was very disappointing, not sure if the chef has changed but a real shame as usually so good

The restaurant Maruja is one of the numerous restaurants located on the beachfront of Calpe. The service is slow and the food average. We were rather disappointed by the crema catalana.

Based on the recent positive reviews, and wanting a place with a sea view, we visited on our way back to Denia.
The presentation of the food is excellent and we had a very good ensalada huerta.
Unfortunately the mariscada (€59) was terrible. All the elements were frozen. The sepia was ok. The rape was almost raw, the merluza was cooked but full of water, and the other fish was dry and tasteless. The lobster was chewy. The mussels and almejas were cold and unappetising.
The most surprising thing was, when we told the waiter about the pescado, he didn’t even acknowledge the feedback - it was as if we hadn’t said anything. It will be remembered as one of our worst meals in Spain sadly.

We went to Calpe for a family day and left quite dissatisfied.
We were 9 diners, we ordered 4 Señoret paella and 4 black rice paella. Since we were with children we asked for one less portion.
The waitress explained to us that they couldn't put 2 different paellas for one table because they had a lot of noise... the restaurant was full and they also do takeaway...
Until then I understand and understand it.
But our surprise was that after waiting more than 1 hour and a quarter, they brought out two paella pans with Señoret rice for the 9 diners.
We had ordered some mussels as starters while we were expecting paella and they were brought at the same time……
We were there on Saturday, August 5, it was a holiday in Calpe and everything was packed.

Dreadful place, dreadful service, dreadful food. Staff that could not careless about providing a service.
I have been to Calpe 3-4 times a year for over 10 years, I have eaten at this place a few times over the years and has been reasonable. The lack of care and service from the staff has gone down hill, serving mains and starters at the same time, to asking numerous times for cutlery, to not being served food at the same time as each other so your food goes cold waiting or you eat individually. When finally complaining staff are arrogant and disinterested. AVOID!

We tried again... It's over... I was staying in Calpe on Saturday night with a friend and my parents. We took a walk that evening looking for somewhere close to the hotel to eat and came upon this restaurant. We were very fortunate to have found it as could not fault anything! Service was excellent, great process, good selection to choose from and food was excellent! I highly recommend the chopitos which are one of my favourites and they were cooked to perfection!! Will definitely be back and will be recommending to anyone asking for somewhere to go and wat whilst in Calpe.

Wonderful place for lunch. Everything is delicious and huge portions!! Friendly staff! Highly recommend !!! Came in for the first time on my way back from the beach!! I ordered a salad and a main course! They brought huge portions (difficult for one person to handle) and quite quickly!!! The food is delicious and there are always people there!! They come with families, groups and just to enjoy the view with a variety of drinks!!

Very well eaten in this child friendly restaurant with friendly service. Were eating here with our children aged 13, 8 and 9 months. Speed was good, food was very tasty and nice that vegetables were served with it. Prices slightly higher but not unacceptable. Cozy atmosphere 😊

New owner since the bad reviews. A 5 star restaurant. We ate at least 4 times here during our stay in Calpe. I personally had the fish, steak, pizza and other and each dish better than the last. Best pizzas we got during our stay. Great service and FANTASTIC cocktails 🍸. The menu is perfect, straight to the point, not to many choices to be confusing. 10 out of 10 restaurant.

What a great find!
The staff are so friendly, the atmosphere is really relaxed and enjoyable.
We had some really good pizzas, and the staff even boxed up our leftovers to take back with us.
The pina colada was so yummy!
Will definitely be back.

Adrian had done a fabulous job updating this popular bar/restaurant with super sea and the rock views. Good choice of tapas and menu is extensive. Particularly enjoy their G & Ts with sweets!! Well done!
