We already tried some mexican rests in Madrid, but this one is out choice so far. Top food quality, good mexican beers, the service was fast and pleasant. Go down the stairs and come back up very satisfied.

Tucked away downstairs is the large restaurant. The decor is "Mexican" with large wall murals and trinkets around the room. We ordered guacamole, tacos pibil and some chicken in cream sauce. The tortilla chips were not fresh. The pibil was great but the chicken was ridiculous- it was rare and the sauce was like an instant jar of sauce. If... More

You can start drinking margaritas and after that the waiter can choose for you. It's a good way to eat the specialities of the restaurant. The dish with cactus is delicious.and the atmosphere nice

The food was very disappointing. Bland guacamole, nothing but the taste of cheese in the quesadillas, main courses uninteresting and greasy. The female servers were friendly, but the men were arrogant and rude. In no way recommendable. The exorbitant bill at the end of the evening was the final disappointment of the night.

Coming across this place by accident, I found the location of the restaurant really strange and was almost sure it was dying out or something. There was no one else there and the waiters were unbelievably snobby and did not provide any insight into their restaurant or their menu. Probably won't be going back.

This restaurant is nice, friendly and the service is very good and friendly. We didnot have to. Wait long for our meals to arrive. The food is delicious. They serve good micheladas but also delicious tamarind juice. Prices are reasonable, so if you are looking for a good Mexican restaurant with an authentic Mexican feel and good food, I can... More

We were seated in the 'patio'...I would recommend sitting in the adjacent room (nearer the entrance) as we noticed on the way out the atmosphere seemed a lot better. Also in the patio there is a huge tv screen...ok while theres music playing, But rather strange to watch an advert for a laptop computer at full volume on a 2... More

We used to go to this restaurant a lot in 2006-2007 However last year (2008) we had a really bad experience. I took a client along and the food was really poor, they didn´t have any decent wine and we found the waitress to be quite cheeky. Not wanting to judge by this this one experience I was willing to... When I came to Spain we were desperately looking for some Mexican food! We found this one and fell in love! We go back often and the staff is SUPER sweet! The food is really good. Its not like in the States where you have chips and salsa--but the atmosphere is nice. Be sure to try the Queso Fundido (appetizer)... More

Mexican restaurant. My favourites: 'Flautas', 'Queso con Huitlacoche'-did i spell that right?- , 'chalupas, 'cochinita pibil', 'tacos al pastor' and 'nachos'. The chef is nuts and he'll come out of the kitchen from time to time and probably say something cheeky to you.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
