We were looking for somewhere to watch the Euro 2016 semi final between France & Germany and noticed that they had a large screen in here.We sat at the bar and ordered drinks and chatted to Canadians and Americans about the game, The atmosphere was pleasant and we came for drinks on another night. It was interesting that on the... More

The portions are large and the waitress was friendly enough to warn about it. I would not call them as "tapas" but "raciones" instead. They don't use "tapas" either in the menu, so if you looking to order several small plates of different food this might not be the right place for you. The quality of the food is excellent.... More

Arrived to watch the Euro Final and were greeted with amazing customer service & delicious, affordable drinks and food! The beef dish was HUGE and so tasty. Two main meals & 3 drinks each - less than €40! One of the best evenings we had in Madrid.

Excellent - and very cheap! - place to have a 'Spanish' breakfast. Tostada, tomatoes, orange juice and a drink (coffee/beer/etc) all for Euro 2.40 each!! 'Upgrade' to a Tostada Mixed (with ham and cheese) for only Euro 2.80!! All freshly prepared. Very quick service by friendly staff. Also does lunches and evening meals.

I had there a beautiful lunch yesterday. The value is with 12 Euros exceptional and the food very good, portions are huge and taste is great. Highly recommended, but skip breakfast before you go. I had a large beer, Lentil soup followed by Oxtail and fruit for dessert. The Oxtail was amazing and basically every table had one ordered at... More

This was our first real sit down meal in Madrid and we were not disappointed! We came during lunchtime and were seated right away. We ordered ham croquettes, ribs and gambas al la plancha. The portions were huge and we loved everything we ordered. Fantastic food, service was good and prices were very reasonable. Highly recommend!

This is definately the place to check out. Great food and beer with large portions and rational prices. Our service staff was fun and humble making the overall experience splendid! Would definately go back for another round.

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
