Set in the heart of the city in Bilbao, this contemporary Spanish restaurant is nothing less than exceptionally great! The staff was helpful, courteous and attentive. An amazing menu which proudly utilises local ingredients. For starters we had the Iberica ham and Scrambled eggs! My main dish was a perfectly cooked sea bass with locally grown vegetables. Fantastic desert and... More

There is a reason why the restaurant is officially only open from 21:30 to 23:30 Else it would probably not handle the mass of people coming Every course of the meal was excellent. Starting from the break on the side to the appetizers to the main steak The wine on the side was enjoyable as well and overall you have... More

Fresh produce from Navarra well prepared. Generous servings. Excellent service pon entering the door carried through the rest of the evening. Packed as usual, so a little noisy. Overall, at 60 euros/head a good value.

If you search for first quality products and a respectful cuisine, this is the place to go. They make recipes from Navarra (Northern Spain) where quality is always the main goal. Excellent vegetables cooked to the precise point, that they receive from their home village daily, fine meats and the best fresh fish of every season. Service can´t be better,... More

We were unable to get a table for dinner on the weekend so we had Saturday lunch which turned into an enjoyable two and a half hours. The staff were generally pleasant and the chef and his wife were delightful. His English is nonexistent so he found another person to help with our order. While the meal was excellent (although... First visit with friends from London passing by Madrid just for one night. We chose this restaurant as it was recommended by a number of friends. We were not disappointed by the food, however the service could have been a touch more attentive and more in line with the standards of the food. We liked the crowd which was a... More

From Azagra they came and Madrid they conquered. Their weapons: exquisite regional produce, meats and fish, accompanied by friendly, respectful and professional service. Go for whatever you prefer from the menu... For us, favorites are the Pimientos de Cristal,( roasted red peppers) the Anchoas de Santoña, ( anchovies from Santoña) the Sesos a la Romana,( fried small lamb brains) and... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
