We had booked a table on the terrace and were greeted downstairs and taken up to the terrace in an old fashioned elevator where we were greeted again and taken to our table. It was a warm balmy night and with only about 15 tables outside there was a lovely intimate atmosphere whilst still having plenty of space around us.... More

This was food, and service, of the highest quality. We went for the whole menu,so had 25 tastes of different elements. There are too many highlights to mention - but the wit shone through in each course. More importantly, you want to leave the surprise for the next diner - no spoilers here! The service was immaculate - we had... More

We ordered the full tasting menu which was priced around EUR120 per person. As a starter, the finger food appetisers were very delicately interesting and paired well with different types of olive oil. Yes there's a lot of olive oil but it is really a tea spoonful only each dish, it wont make you full all of a sudden. Eg... More

A truly exceptional meal - probably our best so far this year. The vegetable garden and boiled egg both real highlights. Great wine pairings and very reasonable despite no price limit given

You shouldn't go there just to eat and, whatever you do, have one of the tasting menus. Even after 13 courses you will still be interested. Each course is a small but extraordinary experience and even the most oddball thing, like the 'vegetable garden' is delightful. OK, not every course is an entirely new, wonderful, eyepopping experience, as they were... More

So much fun and theatre! Plus great tasting food! What more could you want? From the beautiful entrance with the grand old elevator to the sun shining in to the light and airy dining room this place is class. Be aware you will need to be appropriately dressed to be allowed entry. The food is delightfully playful, taking classic dishes... More

Molecular gastronomy- interesting but does not live up to the legend of El Bulli as an example. I would certainly give better ratings to the place of the service was better but it was beyond abysmal- forced and not at all to the level one would expect of a two Michelin. Someone would come and recite what the plate was... More

From the moment you enter the absolutely stunning dining room the tone is set for an incredible dining experience. We were greeted with a very special pisco sour made with liquid nitrogen and served as a sort of sorbet in a frozen lime. We choose to try the entire tasting menu (€135) which while admittedly expensive was more food than... More

For balmy Madrid evenings, the Casino offers an exceptional atmosphere surrounded by the most historical buildings on Calle Alcala.Since 1988, the rooftop restaurant, La Terraza del Casino, two Michelin Stars and three Repsol Suns, directed by Paco Roncero and advised by Ferran Adria, now rates among the most innovate players on Madrid gastronomic stage. Fine dining is one of the most surprising locations the Casino de Madrid has to offer.Discover Madrid skyline from amidst the historic buildings that surround the Casino: they provide the backdrop for your meal. Haute cuisine for clients in search of originality, creativity and the chance to enjoy a new culinary experience.Furthermore, in the refurbishment, Jaime Hayon has created a design conceived specifically to envelop dinners in the same groundbreaking, avant-garde feel that Paco Roncero achieves with the textures, colours and flavours of his dishes.

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
