A perfect place to have brunch in Madrid. A great variety of food from the classic Benedict eggs to other specific tapas. Highly recommended Catalan Eggs. The atmosphere is friendly with a important Mediterranean influence. The design is great and quite surprising, the basement has a great design, styled as a beach bar.

We had breakfast here only once. The decaf coffee was excellent, the chicken baguette was large and very, very tasty. The decor in the cafe is excellent, I won't give anything away but eat in the annex on the right as you go in and even if you don't need to go, you MUST visit the restroom downstairs. I will... I recently visited Ojalá with my roommates. The place is very welcoming and offers 2 floors of seating and an additional terrace. We went for Sunday brunch and were not disappointed. The plate I ordered (10 euros) included a baked egg with chorizo and white beans, 2 slices of corn bread, ricotta cheese, a cup of fruit salad, and banana... More

My father came to visit me in Madrid, so I decided to take him here. The food was nice and reasonably priced. We did have one problem though, we ordered hummus and the waiter forgot to order it himself so we ended up getting it at the end of the meal.

I am very sad of writing this bad review, since I have always been an huge fan of Ojala. I have been there for a Saturday brunch, enjoying the outside seats. The place is awesome, I love it but the service totally let me down; the waiter has been very unfriendly and rude almost mocking me (wi-fi was not working... More

I had researched Malasana before my trip to Madrid so I had already known it was an area that I was going to love but during my wandering around the Malasana streets, I decided to find somewhere for a bite to eat. I walked past a few places but Ojala caught my eye. It was the decor that did it!... More

We were looking for a decent place to eat because we sort of got lost in the area and after half an hour or so, we found this place! Super friendly waiters, we even waited for an empty table because we loved the atmosphere there! The place looks childish at first but it's extremely adorable, very tasty food, fast service... More

Staying in Malasana

Neighborhood Profile
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighborhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
