Spoilt for choice along Calle Pez while travel tired and hungry, we were very lucky to opt for Gumbo. A little unsure of the Louisiana menu, I was delighted with the soft shell crabs, cangrejo blando, as was my other half with his beef cheeks,...More

We usually try to stay with restaurants that have local food when we are on vacation. We are glad we violated that rule. We ate here and loved it. I had fried green tomatoes to start. My son had eggplant and my wife had the...More

Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music
venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair,

Gumbo is the traditional soup of New Orleáns, ex Spanish, French and British colony with a history of slavery, which is a fusion of European culinary traditions enriched with African flavours and new world ingredients. It is the one of the most important dishes of Creole cuisine, and one of the stars at Gumbo, a small Creole restaurant in the heart of Madrid located on the Calle Pez, 15, which also offers other favourites like fried green tomatoes, shrimp creole and blackened steak. Also offers lunch menu and ever changing specials. Come on by and enjoy!
