I got the nice surprise that the restaurant was fully renovated. This is one of the classic restaurant in madrid. Food in all terms is tremendous even if you are looking to eat seafood (pimientos rellenos de txangurro my favorite). In my opinion beef is the main actress. The service is definitely outstanding, you will be feeling that you are... More

This is a great restaurant that has seen the test of times. Established in 1976 it offers Basque cuisine and is well known for its meat. It is a well known spot for Real Madrid players and is famous for hosting many of their players through the years. The walls are covered with Real Madrid players from the last three... More

We visited the Asador with two of our sons to celebrate one of their birthdays. We were all really looking forward to it as we have had some wonderful times there in the past. Unfortunately, however, nothing lived up to our expectations. The newly refurbished interior is completely lacking in atmosphere and has none of the character it had in... More

Typical Spanish restaurant where speciality is steak on hot stone. Steak is delicious (Spanish meat from Avila or Segovia) and you can enjoy another local dishes. Not cheap at all and in some cases you can share dinner or lunch with some futbol player, since they usually go over there (place is plenty of futbol and celebrities photos)

I have been dining in Asador Donostiarra for over 20 years on business trips to Madrid and was pleasantly surprised to see they have undergone a refit of the restaurant which has brought the decor up to date- clean and modern. What hasn't changed is their high standard of food - the quality of their meats is second to none.... More

Everything is perfect in this restaurant. From the steak to the dessert. The atmosphere is very spanish and traditional. A must go in Madrid.

I had dined here previously, failing to do the experience any justice. This time it was going to be different. After breakfast I managed to eat very little. Our last visit to Donostiarra was the last leg of a ten day trip which had seen us eat & drink most of Spain, leading to a complete failure at the dining... More

We booked a table for 9.30 on Friday night, I received 2 reminders by text from them that day & we also looked at the website. There's a gallery full of photos of the rich & famous, Beckham, Ramos, Bale etc etc etc. We took a taxi to the restaurant & when we arrived the manager (?) greeted us outside... More

I ate some of the best meat available in Madrid. It was a wonderful experience and I liked the late 1960s early 1970s decor. I highly recommend this restaurants even though it is not centrally located.
