The tasting menu was a mixed experience of delicious dishes and things which just didn't work for me. Service was rushed and not very attentive. We didn't get to see the menu, so picking wines was tricky. When asking about appropriate wines per glass, expecting paired wines, I was offered only the choice of "a glass of red or white".... Visited with much anticipation having booked this Michelin star months in advance. We were the only diners to start (8.30pm which I guess is early in Madrid terms!) - it's difficult to criticise a restaurant for this it the service was TOO attentive. The waitress hovered and played were cleared/dishes brought before we'd finished our wine taster for that course.... More

We booked a late lunch at Lua on our last day in Madrid. We had a wonderful meal, very inventive tasting menu with some stand out dishes. This is cooking of the highest standard with some excellent wines to accompany the meal. I cant recommend this place highly enough, the staff are knowledgeable and attentive. the only slight criticism was... More

A moden Spanish restaurant serving classic ispanish ingredienses in a new frame. We had a 9 course fixed dinner which appears to be their degustation menu. A Michelin star restaurant so high expectations, but somehow it never took off. None of the 9 dishes were in my opinion of Michelin Star quality. Some were good, a few ordinary and some... More

Top notch quality Michelin starred food at a reasonable rate. The food here is terrific and very well thought out. I love the fact no menu is offered and the tasting menu is just brought out to you (once no allergies are confirmed when asked) The matching wines were hit and miss with a couple going very well and others... Lua has a gastronomic restaurant and a gastrobar in the front. We had a family dinner in the gastrobar. The quality of the products and the cooking was outstanding: delicious burrata, fresh and tasty tuna tartar with guacamole, a beautiful mi-cuit of salmon, oxtail taco's that were perfectly seasoned (spicy but not too). Highly recommended. We look forward to trying... More

It's been over a year since we visited Lua for the first time, January 9, 2015. While we visit Madrid often, Lua is the kind of place that should be reserved for a special occasion as their offer is a special pleasure of flavors and textures. We came bak!! And what a come back this was. At this time we... More

We have been there with four persons and enjoyed the menu a lot, since you can clearly recognise the gallician touch. I can especially recommend the wine sampling accompanied to dishes. The only thing which was not perfect is the fact that we got our dishes served right after we got seated and have not finished our aperitif yet. So... More

Really good food. They adapted the Menu Degustaçion to suit one of us who is allergic to various food. Attentive (but not totally smooth) service. Nice atmosphere. Easy accessed by subway. Fantastic value for money.

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
