The tasting menu was fantastic. Well cooked - well seasoned - beautiful flavours to all the courses. We liked the basement and the waiters were very knowledgeable about the food and in recommending wine to accompany it. I also thought it was value for money.

We had the tasting menu. Fabulous food which was perfectly presented on exceptional crockery. Accompanied by an excellent but affordable Albariño white and a Roda Rioja all 10 of us thought the meal was faultless.

Really was not impressed at all with the place! The best thing was the olive balls at the beginning. Apart from that most of the food tastes like cocido, whether the lentils or the fish. The products are fresh and good quality, but the dish per se really did not say much. The dessert was not bad but could loose... More

We, a party of 6 gourmets, arrived with a lot of expectation, for a first disappointment: the degustation menu is compulsory in a claustrophibic, poorly ventilated cellar, including the the toilets for the whole restaurant It is neither worth the price nor the endless time it takes to be served. A few plates were excellent, like the carpaccio de cigalla... More

I was the first to arrive for dinner as I had a very early reservation by Madrid standards due to an early flight the next day. The front door was opened for me before I was able to do it myself, and I am happy to say that the service was as speedy and attentive the whole night. It can... More

For a Michelin star place it was ridiculous to found ourselves unattended with empty glasses waiting for a waiter to refill them with champaign (euro 43) for 10 mins until we called him ourselves! Nobody helped us (2 ladies) with our coats neither when we came nor when we were leaving - our coats were hanging on the chairs for... More

Two of us went for lunch and the bar area was not busy, which meant that when we arrived, nobody greeted us.. a poor start with one member of staff going to the bar to get drinks for downstairs and not meeting our gaze... ..... Come on guys! This stuff matters!!! The lovely camarero then arrived and was great for... More

We have just had lunch in Lua. At €65 it would be hard to beat on value anywhere. Strongly seafood biased it was an excellently balanced tasting menu. The only real meat dish of lamb was for us the weakest link: too sweet and heavy. Wine is very affordable with unsurprisingly a strong local focus. If you are in Madrid... More

Our specialities include 'nuggets' of lamb sweetbreads, octopus "a feira" and many traditional Galician dishes with a modern twist. Top cuisine in a great atmosphere. Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
