To be fair the first maitre d' was pleasant. The first waiter was nice too. But we got a horrible rude surly second waiter who kept brushing up against me. He seemed beyond bored, like it was too much trouble to explain things. He became...More

I had a business dinner with a group of about 20 people. We got a private room on the first floor. The whole setup is old style and needs a fresh-up. The food was ok. Several tapas and the cordon bleu for main. Wine was...More

A young fyood blogger friend recommended Lhardy among several other places in Madrid. In retrospect, we realise he must have meant the place in the Mercado de San Miguel. However, we happened by the old restaurant on Carrera de San Jerónimo and went in for...More

Following a friend's recommendation we arrived for a Saturday evening meal and were not disappointed by its charming nineteenth century elegance. However the food was rather underwhelming, apart from the Octopus Brandade which was tasty, and the service just a bit too stiff and formal....More

We are thankful for letting us know your opinion. Our nineteenth century restaurant has a great variety of dishes and specialties, one of them is a traditional dish called "Cocido Madrileño" and others like duck and "Callos" prepared with prime quality ingredients and cooking for...More

This restaurant has potential, but unfortunately it is currently past it's prime. Kitchen needs a facelift - food pretends to be gourmet but isn't. Should keep it traditional and simple.

Thanks for leaving us your review. Lhardy is a centenary restaurant, traditional spanish dishes and also different options as fish, duck and meat prepared in a special way for all guests. Please accept our apologies.

I am Spanish and every single time I come to Madrid I go to the san miguel market. I think that the quality of the market overall is going down, pushed by the tourism and crowds. But Lhardy's stand was possible the worst food experience...More

Note that this review is for the old restaurant upstairs, not the place in Mercado de San Miguel or the downstairs shop. There is a confusion in the ratinq as the reviews include everyhing under the Lhardy name. The upscale restaurant and the shop in...More

Tried the Lhardy location in Mercado de San Miguel for a quick snack and I would say they have a very interesting selection of Tapas that are not traditional Spanish. Definitely worth a peek.

My husband and I chose Lhardy based on a recommendation in Lonely Planet and also other reviews. While we knew it was going to be pricey, and as it was our last evening in Madrid before heading home, we decided that a great meal would...More

Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street
performers, colorful lights, window shopping,

churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a
collection of plazas interconnected by a network of
side streets. Some of these side streets are wide
pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so
