La Giralda offers a culinary excursion to the south of Spain, without the bother of the trip. Fabulous coquinas, tiny fried squid, beet salad, tomato, onion and tuna salad, and bites of battered and fried sand shark--all superb. We ate at the high tops, but a proper dining room is also available. Reservations are advised.

The gazpacho was a taste bomb. A recommendation. The smal burgers with veal and pork were also very good. Try it! The waiters are very helpful and friendly.

Excellent food in pleasant and comfy ambiance. You can choose to have some tapas at the bar, served with ice cold Heineken beer or dry Manzanilla, or to dine formally in the restaurant. Every choice will be a success. We had almejas, Salmorejo, typical Pescadito Frito and andalusian-style Paella. Wonderfull! Prices are fair, service however sometimes a bit slow. A... More

I'm a recurrent client. For me it's the best Andalusian restaurant in Madrid Everything is excellent, but tortillita camarones are second to nothing in Madrid (you can only find something similar in Cádiz) and rice with lobster is the best of Madrid. Looking forward to repeat soon Service is simply perfect

A colleague took me there to try the adobo (fried fish) and the salad with tuna. Excellent. The atmosphere is great, nice decoration and great selection of gins, whiskeys, wines. Waiters are very friendly and professional.

This place was a welcome surprise in a relatively expensive part of Madrid. Comfortable, attractive place to sit with a good bar and fast service. Quite traditional food on offer.

The atmosophere, the hospitality in the sense of overall friendliness was not what we were expecting. The food was ok but not more than that and the prize rather high for what we had.

While we were strolling near our hotel, we stopped in for tapas. They were wonderful! We loved the quaint, rustic atmosphere. Highly recommend La Giralda.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
