Bet on this 100 year old restaurant to meet with your friends anytime of the day. Typical food is roasted chicken along with natural apple cider. Less than €15 per person and you'll enjoy one of Madrid's most charming and traditional places.

Love this place, chicken and cider what more can you ask for. The atmosphere is old school almost like an old distillery and the staff even add character. We always make a trip over to this restaurant when we visit.

Excellent introduction to queso cabrales, cidre and rotisserie chicken. Frequented by locals and tourists it's well worth a couple of your hours on a Sunday afternoon. It's good standard food, nothing special, just good honest and freshly prepared so no problem. They have a nice terrace where you can watch the world go by. Visit the Goya pantheon close by... More

The roast chicken is excellent and very reasonably priced. Cider is wonderful. First tried to get in on a Sunday but was completely packed out. Testament to the popularity of a madrid institution.

Went to dinner ...as you walk in it's like you Walked into a tavern from the 1800's... Just wood tables and chairs and gigantic barrels. But the chicken is "fall of the bones" delicious...that's all they have rotisserie chickens and tapas, cheeses, chorizos etc. yummy!! I heard the house apple cider is good but I didn't order it. We had... More

Unless you know about the Casa Mingo you might not go in if you passed it. It does not look great from the outside and it is busy and quite noisy inside. The attraction is the cider! The food is very good as well. It is not the type of place where you might just be passing unless you go... More

My wife was sceptical about visiting this place, it is a little way out of the swing of things and she said that roast chicken was something we do well at home. However the large old-world restaurant was very attractive and cool when it was 40 degrees outside. The spit-roasted chicken was truly delicious, served with bread to soak up... More

This is a little out of the way of other eateries in Madrid city centre, but worth the walk. We didn't see anything else like this restaurant in Madrid. The chicken was delicious although it does come with no sides and the salad we ordered was very basic. Worth it just for the yummy chicken!

Visited here with my 2 friends based on the excellent reviews we had read-safe to say we were left disappointed. I feel that this place is for people who don't often cook chicken at home as my dad's chicken beats the one here! If you are looking for food that is served fast, with a basic level of taste in... We visited Casa Mingo with friends who live in Madrid. They had told us it was famous for its chicken and ever-popular with the locals. We ordered 2 chickens with a variety of other small dishes to compliment. Everything was perfectly cooked and was washed down with the restaurant's very own cider, which was also excellent. I would highly recommend... More

Casa Mingo is the oldest cider house in Madrid, and possibly the oldest in Spain, since it opened in 1888, when it had not yet reached 60 years of the death of the great painter Francisco de Goya, who lighted up with his frescos the close hermitages of San Antonio de la Florida, designed by Ventura Rodriguez, also author of the Prado Museum, which you cannot miss, standing in a place that was considered as Real Site on the banks of the Manzanares river, as an extension of Campo del Moro's gardens and the rest of the Royal Palace gardens.
To eat well in Madrid choose Casa Mingo. Try one of our famous roasted chicken. All accompanied by a bottle of cider to round out the menu and go home with very good taste. Do not forget, no place like Casa Mingo to eat well in Madrid.
