Went to visit my friends and Los Caracoles was recommended by a friend, all staff is very nice and the owner is also looking after all people. Food was fresh, great tapas and good price for drinks :) definitely coming back !
Read all the great reviews and decided to try it. Snails....yikes you have to have an acquired taste for this meal. NOT we did not enjoy their menu at all. I gave it a two because the waitress was super cool. The service was excellent...but if you're looking for a good meal...keep searching unless your into snails 🤮
Worst meal of our trip this far.More
Great little tapas bar in La Latina. We had the signature dish (snails/caracoles) but also calamares, bacalao and other stuff. The owner, Amadeo, is 89 years old and has been working their for 40+ years. Very interesting guy. Anyway, worth a stop for sure if...you're in La Latina neighborhood.More
A friend who lives nearby recommended this place to me years ago as we were staying at the hotel over the road and to be fair, the beer is very good. However, the real reason I'm writing this review is the snails. They sit there...in a pan behind the bar stewing away in what I expect is a top secret blend of herbs and spices that Colonel Sanders would kill to discover if indeed he were still alive and about to open a global chain of snail eateries.
So when I recently returned to Madrid with a group of friends, the Snail Bar was a must visit. I found it refurbished and full of happy people eating snails, drinking drinks and chatting loudly. Proper friendly place this, go there, eat snails, drink beer, life is good.More
Typical old Spanish bar rule by the same family since ages. No fancy at all, but is where the neighbors go. They serve the beer (cañas) according to Madrid’s way and the snails (escargot) they prepare they are just incredible. Go there, ask for a...“caña” (or two) and some “Caracoles” (escargot). Just enjoy it. After that, keep moving to La LatinaMore
