Couldn't have chosen a better place for our final meal in Madrid (this time) although we were lucky to get a table. This is obviously a place where local families gather to enjoy Sunday lunch and Easter Sunday was insanely busy. Food excellent,my carnivore husband was in his element and enjoyed a casseroled Oxtail dish which he declared best meal... More

This is a small, busy restaurant. We ordered steak, which comes on a hot plate so you cook to your own liking. At €33 for a lot of meat, chips and a salad for two people, great value.

Came here for dinner on my last night in Madrid. I've had enough great meals here to put this dinner in perspective. In part, I was drawn in by the prix fixe menu advertised out front. When I tried to order from this menu, I was told that this was only available in the afternoon. Although there was no such... More

Looking for a restaurant for a early meal, and just happened to come across this restaurant. I have to say one of the best choices we made. Looks very rustic, and it is.. We were made more than welcome by the staff whose English was far better than my Spanish.. Whilst trying to order drinks for two in Spanish I... More

Non-pushy waiters and busy, charming atmosphere inside made us want to head in and order some food! The staff were so friendly, advising us on what to order - the food was delicious, the alcohol great & a hidden gem in Madrid...A wonderful anniversary meal!

Nipped in here at 11pm as all the tables outside were full. Very load and crazy waiters having fun but the food came quick and was very good. Had 3 raciones with 2 beers all for 23 Euros.

This is a super restaurant, very authentic food and atmosphere. The staff were wonderful, very accomodating to both adults and teenagers. Great location for a stop while visiting Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor. Great menu with very good wines. Highly recommend!

Although we regularly use TA for restaurant recommendations, we just happened to stumble across this place while randomly looking for somewhere for a party of six, with very differing tastes in food. From the outside, the place looked quite busy and the staff were buzzing around. They saw us looking and offered us a decent table at the left hand... More

Vente a conocernos!

Staying in Huertas

Neighborhood Profile
Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once home to prominent literary figures, Miguel de Cervantes and Lope de Vega among them. The neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas receives a fair amount of spillover from the center — side streets around Plaza Santa Ana take on a foreign party atmosphere at night, and you always see young backpackers navigating the streets — but as you descend into the neighborhood, everything becomes a little more cramped and slightly less refined, and takes on more of an underground feel. Live music is at the heart of Huertas: by night, its subdued bars are ideal for meeting friends, sipping cocktails, and chatting quietly while enjoying jazz or singer-songwriter performances.
