A very nice place that brings the tasteful Belgian beers in the heart of Madrid. The personell were very kind and helpfull. Good beer and fries. They serve maximum 4 beers/ consumer 😜.

We came here because I wanted something other than Heineken or malhou. This place serves Belgian beer however just be a bit careful because the beers I was after were not available due to "an accident". Instead, the more expensive beers were available. The Belgian fries are great and the tapas is ok. Just be careful not to spend too... More

Great Belgian beers for good prices. I paid 4 euros for my Belgian strong golden and ale and 5 euros for my Chimay red both on draft. We got the hot tapas which was just various fried things(calamari, croquettes etc). The beer was good, the food was fine. I'd recommend this place for the beer.

Bread across Madrid is free when placed on your table complimentary. We ordered a tappa set of meats and cheeses and with that the server placed a bread basket which we fully ate and then charged us for. They take advantage of ones inability to speak Spanish and use that to confuse you into paying for and eating food you... More

Don't be fooled by the cool beer, this place is the worst of tourist traps. Across Madrid, bread is free and here they charged 2,40. We also asked for water and got two bottles, didn't drink one and were forced to pay for the unopened one and take it with us. The food was unimpressive and overpriced. Do not go... More

How on earth can one stay inside, let alone eat here. This place smells really bad. The atmosphere is like a sauna where the exhaust of a deep fryer has been connected to the airco.

This place has an excellent selection of tap and bottled beers, all from Belgium. The staff and menu are multi-lingual. It's a small place but the upstairs and outdoor seating help a lot. I didn't eat here so I can only say the food I saw come out of the kitchen looked good.

Aaaah Belgian beers in Madrid. Been there several times with (non) Belgian friends to drink/let them taste Belgian beers and they all liked it. Compared to Belgium, prices are high, but that's probably because they have to import all the beer from Belgium. They have a small terrace in front and a small but cosy first floor.

I went here on a particularly Sunday for my last meal on my trip to Madrid. Set in a particularly touristy area most restaurants looked quite busy and me being on a bit if a tight deadline, when there was a table available here I took it. You pay 10% extra for the privalage of sitting outside but there really... More

Smal bar with a terrace right off Plaza Mayor. Serves a lot of different Belgian beer brands and some typical Belgian and Dutch "tapas" and mussels. A place to also celebrate typical Belgian and Dutch events and to view important soccer tournaments. During those events the bar (including the upstairs room) is completely full.

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
