After a couple of dodgy 'tourist tapas' experiences around Plaza Mayor, we headed off on Saturday lunchtime into uncharted territory - to trendy Malasana and to Restaurante Albur. Fortunately we arrived early for lunch (for Madrid) and got a table - within half an hour...More

This bar is almost across from our hotel, but we had not noticed it previously (due to walking in the opposite direction). We only have one night left, but I'm sure we will be back tomorrow. The bar is welcoming and busy. We stopped for...More

We dined in Albur in January, the food was lovely and there was something for everyone on the menu. It's not a flashy restuarant, but small and quaint and full of locals The service staff were friendly and left lots of time in between courses...More

We had lunch in Albur few weeks ago. The service and food were just correct. There is nothing special in the menu. Probably, the best thing is the price. The other restaurants in the same area are much more expensive.

We had a very pleasant large lunch at the Albur. Most locals had left and were ab.e to ask the waiter about the menu items with which we were not familiar. We finally settled on sharing their Papas Arugadas (marinated salmon with potatoes smothered in...More

Food was a little lower quality for what I'd expect at the price point. One person that had dinner with us had steak, portion was beyond human! They also brought a tabletop grill and had him cook his own steak. The grill sprayed everything in...More

Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music
venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair,
narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the
center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends
