Beers 1 Euro- cheap food- chips etc... but you can order great tapas- if you can get past the chips! Young Madrid/students great if you are looking for a cheap night out- and if you are with a bunch of friends... not a romantic evening venue...extremley popular and gets very busy- as it's not a rip off

You must try the tinto and Desperados Tequila Beer. Everything on the menu is great. You must sit outside and people watch! Love Madrid!

We visited several branches of 100 Montaditos during our 5 day stay in Madrid- each time excellent value and quick service. Each table had menu sheets, you write down the quantity and code of each item you want and order inside. There was a good range of meat free options as well as some classic meat options. The Tinto de... More

Here you will get cheap loafs of bread with the cheapest ingridients available from a staff that clearly wants to be somewhere/anywhere else.

This restaurant is obviously part of a big chain. The restaurant we visited was on Calle Fuencarral 96 Madrid. The guys didn't speak English but we're extremely helpful. You write down the number of the items you won't from the menu and order and pay at the bar. We visited on a Sunday were there is a choice of sandwiches... More

The one we visited is on Calle Fuencarral 96. Easily the best value meal we had in Madrid. On Wednesday and Sunday almost everything's €1 and the beer is €1.50 per pint. Lots of choice of mini baguettes and snacks. Four of us ate for €22!!!! Brilliant

Not so good as the descriptions...the fries were bad and nachos were very old. Non penso di tornare in questo posto.

Pick your choice of (mini) rolls from the menu at your table, write it down on a notecard, take it to the register, and in a few minutes you can take your order back! Cheap and fun way to have a quick bite in a popular place!

Me and some friends came here and the food is really nice considering it is all €1.50 a go! We had quite a selection- the chicken wings were my favourite. Reallllly fresh and tasty! Great for a cheap and tasty meal in an expensive city!

Neighborhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
