This is a no nonsense bar serving the Madrid speciality of bocadillo de calamares. You can't book and it's always packed so don't expect to get a seat easily. But the hassle is well worth it. The bocadillo is great and we also ordered patatas...More

Right next to the Plaza Mayor, just through arch (top right-hand corner). Freshly cooked squid in light batter served in a roll. Fantastic at only €2.90, best fast food in Madrid. Beats MacCrap!!

Cheap and cheerfull bar, very fast service IF it's not full. Tasty calamares sandwiches and sliced pork loin ("lomo") sandwiches. Very limited seating and packed tightly together. "Pincho moruno", skewered marinated pork also recommended. On a busy day expect to see queues and people eating...More

Great little joint with tasty calamares and other sandiwches. The alamares were fresh and delicious. I found there was too much bread however and ended up leaving some behind. Also, I suggest asking for mayo, ketchup or lemon as it can get dry and boring...More

I've been a few times over the years to this place and it always delivers. They are always generous with the calamari and shove loads in there. The staff are friendly too and it is only a few euros for a bocadillo and beer. Do...More

What can I say that hasn't already been said? The sandwich was tasty (wife and I split a calamari and a chorizo). Maybe a bit too much bread, but that is seriously nitpicking something that costs $3...what a deal. It was also super quick and...More

Love this little gem! Best bocadillos de calamares in Madrid! Very busy, as it's a local favorite, but the staff is very friendly and food is worth the bustle.

For only €2,90 you get a bocadillo filled to the brim with perfectly cooked calamari. Ask for mayonnaise if you want since they don't give it to you automatically and it could be a bit dry without. A place always filled with locals. A great...More

Racione of calamares, a plate of lightly battered squid, was delicious and served in a generous portion. Popular place with local people. Many were ordering calamares sandwiches. Racione of cold Ali-oli (potato pieces with garlic and mayonnaise sauce) had a wonderful flavour. Reasonable prices.
