I was taken here by a local friend, and I must say I was left without words! For the price of a beer, you get free food - tapas and chicken with rice... for free!
Actually, you always get free tapas and whatever the kitchen is preparing at that moment... all delicious, all fresh and all very local, as this place is very popular with mostly students and young people!
Great food, super cheap prices, fast service and very local feeling - what else would you want?
Just go and enjoy!

It is a place that is worth going out of curiosity but certainly not to repeat...
The service is not very delicate... they greet you outside the bar with self-confidence and urge you to order quickly, they charge you on the spot but before passing the card they ask you if they add the tip... they give you the tapas and Find life with a plate in one hand and a jug of drink in the other...
The jugs of beer, red... are worth 7 euros and they give you a tapa with it... the tapas are abundant but the food is a bit difficult.
What caught my attention is that there were tables but they were all without chairs, meaning that it is focused on fast consumption in order to have more customer turnover and of course it is uncomfortable to stand for an hour drinking the beer with the lid.
In short, a curious place to visit but not one to visit regularly.

When my dad told me about this place, I honestly thought it was too good to be true cause what business would be okay with serving you HEAPS of tapas when you purchase a drink? Sounds like a sinking business to me, but that is def far from the truth here!
I won't lie; walking in it seems a bit grimy, but once you get your drink order in, it's all Gucci from there. Servers at the bar are quick and friendly enough; just be sure to know what you wanna order beforehand cause there WILL be a line after you. I don't think I've ever not seen this place poppin'. I had ordered the sangria and the sandia mojito, and both were delicious! Sweet but not too sweet and def a great pairing with all the tapas we were given such as patatas bravas, wings, jamon, etc. Favorite tapa was def the patatas as the sauce was extra garlicky, and I am all about that.
All I gotta say is if this place is good enough for the locals, it's good enough for me!

I have no idea why any restaurant would serve the free tapas they serve. We came here because we read the reviews of the free tapas and thought this would be fun. I am still haunted by whatever that orange sauce they put on their cold food. It all felt like a joke. I would never suggest anyone to go here. Just buy some bread and ketchup with a few bottles of beer and you will be much happier.

It is true that it is battle food and that the treatment of the bar waiters is a bit rude, but I consider it normal, for the price you pay for a drink you cannot expect designer food, and with the pressure that the It is normal for the staff to be unfriendly sometimes. They can afford it, a lot of people pass by. I would recommend it as long as it wasn't on the weekend and at lunch time or a snack.

It has gone from being a classic and legendary Madrid bar to a regular bar, shabby, very expensive, with unsmokable music. The bathrooms are in a deplorable state, the tapas are abundant but of low quality. But without a doubt, the most regrettable thing is the continuous blackmail of the bar waiter asking for tips in exchange for tapas. In Madrid, tapas have been a lifelong custom. Since the bar hits you hard for the beers, what is not normal is that they also ask you to tip them for the tapas they serve you. I really don't recommend it even to those who have low finances and want to fill their stomach. San Miguel Beer. €4.50 for a beer and €7 for a jug. Come on, not even the Guinness Goddess.

lack of hygiene in food. impractical services. Crowding and lack of respect from the waiters when addressing the customer. They require you to tip incessantly so that they give you tapas, even if you pay a higher drink than usual. No one from the company will return.

CervecerÍa El Tigre Sidra Bar is a fantastic place to visit and was one of the many pub bars and restaurants we visited on our trip to Madrid. This superb bar offer's a brilliant range of drinks and tapas dishes and is an excellent place to fill up as when you order your drink you can have as much tapas as you want as long as your drinking.
The bar itself has a traditional Spanish feel and look with superb furnishings and great seating options throughout the whole bars interior. We visited early in the afternoon on a roasting hot day and it was very busy but we got a table and had a few pint's of beer and lots of assorted tapas which were first rate and well priced.
This is a fantastic tapas bar that's located in a superb area and is very easy to get to from Chueca metro stop it's a few minute's walk.(This is my first review of El Tigre Sidra Bar).

We were friends 6 and 3 girls to be more exact, but we will not return, the treatment x part of the waiters leaves much to be desired,
1° we asked him if they had room inside to take what we had asked for and his answer was that he is at the bar and it was not soothing that we would look at him. They had about 20 tables and there were only 3 occupied, seriously you do not know the people who enter your place??
2° we were charged 40'50€ to 4'50 each consumption no matter what you ask that is the minimum price d up there, bottle of water, cane "San Miguel" we tell you if it has kas or orange fanta and says q yes, but take out a bottle of 2 liters of orange mark "the homemade" and throw it in a glass.
3° we asked for a chair only 1 for a person who needed to sit down and they tell us they don't have, there were 9 of us and we only asked for 1, and they didn't have a chair in the bar.
4° the tapas, raw chicken wings, lacon, chorizo ham and dry cheese, frees the tortilla and croquettes, they put many tapas but are not good.
And the best thing is q have a sign q tells you q the covers are a gift q you can't complain, forgive 4'50 a bottle of water
and 2 liter bottle drinks, not a well paid gift are the lids, if q x at least work them a little more.

Total disaster, the Coca Cola is €4 and they serve it to you in a glass with ice directly from a 2 liter bottle (without gas). And the beer at €4. They put two plates of food on us as if they had been thrown into a bowl to feed an animal, frozen and crushed croquettes, bread with ham that I had to spit out because it tasted like hell, chicken wings (or so I think) that were stale. . Anyway, everything was horrible, we didn't even finish the drinks and we left. Not recommended

I usually go several times a year to one of the places they have. For the first time in many years they have FORCED me to tip if I wanted the tapas in exchange (which is what everyone goes for), they charge you for a beer at 4 euros, coke etc... and tapas were always included (hence the extra price)
The waiter literally told me that if I wanted the tapa I had to tip him. This had never happened to me before, but well, I threw 10 cents into the pot for touching the morale and I won't come back again.
And so years and years of going with friends and recommending it to everyone end

After sightseeing on Friday the 13th and finishing almost at 3 in the afternoon and with 39°, what you least expect is that when you get to have a drink they don't even have a sad stool to sit on. You ask for Cocacola and they bring you a glass full of ice and with Cocacola from a carafe. I tried to order a tortilla skewer paid for without a tapa because my daughter is a vegetarian and the waiter didn't even let me finish the sentence, saying that the tapa would be the one. Of the poor quality they brought, my daughter could only eat a slice of bread with cheese .
However, more people arrived and ordered the tapas they wanted, chicken wings, paella, potato omelette....and they were served without any problem. We went to another bar after finishing the mediocre tapas. I don't recommend it, there are better places with better customer service.

It is no longer what it was. Before, with drinking, they constantly brought out a lot of dishes and you left full. Now, there is no price. The waiter comes, gives you the two drinks you order and brings you two plates of low-quality food and tells you if it's okay with you to close the bill for €12. €12 for a plate of two pieces of cheese with half-hard bread, packaged chorizo, a triangle of dry tortilla, four bravas potatoes, frozen croquettes, raw pork shoulder and bad mushrooms. They give you the price they want. I've read that they force you to tip them. I suppose that, if you don't pay in cash, they put it in your card payment account, because they charge you €4 for a Pepsi. My bill was not €12, and that is what they charged me. For that, I go to any restaurant to eat a decent dish.
IM not coming back anymore.

For me it can close today. I have been with my partner, we ordered a jug of beer and a coke and they poured it into a glass from a 2L bottle and for €4.50, I think it is a shame, they don't put the tapas on a plate that they were collecting and They had left them and they didn't give them to us with terrible rice, in total I paid €10.50 and I think it's a shame. I don't recommend it to anyone, there are a thousand much better places in the area, that they give you free tapas... nothing at all because almost €11 for a jug of beer and a coke that they throw you out of a bottle of 2L well....well I won't be back

HORRIBLE, DON'T GO. UNHEALTHY. With the drink they give you a huge plate with tapas of terrible quality, fried food and, the worst, without sanitary conditions. We just came from there and we saw how they picked up the chicken wings that had fallen on the floor. We are still with the impact of having seen such a thing.
And they choose reusable ones from the leftover tapas for the next dish. Seen with our eyes.
Not everything is worth it even if it is expensive.
Let's report.

Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
