If the idea is to have a few beers and stave off hunger, this is the ideal place in Madrid. Do not expect the best refinement in the food on offer, but do expect a humourous demonstration of Spanish gastronomy. For me it is the...best fast food place you can find. The price of the beer is normal and the food is on the house (if you want to repeat something just tell the waiter and give him a tip).More

When my dad told me about this place, I honestly thought it was too good to be true cause what business would be okay with serving you HEAPS of tapas when you purchase a drink? Sounds like a sinking business to me, but that is...def far from the truth here! I won't lie; walking in it seems a bit grimy, but once you get your drink order in, it's all Gucci from there. Servers at the bar are quick and friendly enough; just be sure to know what you wanna order beforehand cause there WILL be a line after you. I don't think I've ever not seen this place poppin'. I had ordered the sangria and the sandia mojito, and both were delicious! Sweet but not too sweet and def a great pairing with all the tapas we were given such as patatas bravas, wings, jamon, etc. Favorite tapa was def the patatas as the sauce was extra garlicky, and I am all about that. All I gotta say is if this place is good enough for the locals, it's good enough for me!More

Not impressed at all. Give it a try if only you have some free time to waste or need a quick break between shopping.........

I was taken here by a local friend, and I must say I was left without words! For the price of a beer, you get free food - tapas and chicken with rice... for free! Actually, you always get free tapas and whatever the kitchen...is preparing at that moment... all delicious, all fresh and all very local, as this place is very popular with mostly students and young people! Great food, super cheap prices, fast service and very local feeling - what else would you want? Just go and enjoy!More

Ordered 3 drinks and came with tapas. Not too crowded but the tapas is not great. It’s also a bit cold and not warm. Though cheap but nothing to rave about.

My family of 4 stopped in and ordered 4 drinks. after the drinks came, a copious amount of appetizers appeared, 4 different plates of food, and then another plate when we finished. What a great experience !!! The food was good, but the atmosphere was...truly the reason to stop in.More

Just off the gran via main drag and not hard to miss if you weren't searching it out. The high rating is due to the rustic fun factor. Grab a table, order drinks and next thing you know your presented with platefulls of free tapas....It is very basic and rustic but definitely worth a visit.More

If you’re in Madrid, don’t miss El Tigre. Every round comes with a generous portion of tapas. Arroz con pollo, croquetas, Iberian ham, Spanish tortilla, everything super delicious. The atmosphere is vibrant, fun and very madrileña.

I have no idea why any restaurant would serve the free tapas they serve. We came here because we read the reviews of the free tapas and thought this would be fun. I am still haunted by whatever that orange sauce they put on their...cold food. It all felt like a joke. I would never suggest anyone to go here. Just buy some bread and ketchup with a few bottles of beer and you will be much happier.More

Sure, it's not the greatest food in Spain, but the massive drinks and super fun vibes made El Tigre my favorite dining experience I had during my six weeks in Madrid. It's also super inexpensive. By one drink for about 5 euros and get a...whole plate of tapas with it. Great for big groups.More

It might be tight with 27 people but think it could accommodate you. Great tapas in relaxed atmosphere - reasonable wine and beers.
