Saturday lunch. Small and crowded restaurant filled with customers, always has some people outside waiting for table. I had grilled wild asparagus, grilled veal chop (fried peppers and potatoes as sides) and melon, together with coke and bread. All-in price, 16€. Outrageous in Madrid!

I wish we'd eaten here every day. Go at lunch when they open to get a table, otherwise there are queues out the door- and for good reason. Despite being packed inside, the staff were friendly. Several menu del dia's to choose from ranging from...More

I found this restaurant on the Eater 38 list and it was exactly as advertised: No frills, neighborhood / local feel, wide variety of Spanish dishes and incredible value. We had two courses each and shared one dessert with a bottle of water and one...More

This restaurant was recommended by friends who live in Madrid. 5 of us were visiting and went here on our first night. We had incredible food. Great garlic prawns. Gammon which melted off the bone. Superb pork. Great service. Good wine. We shall certainly return.

Recommended by our B&B host. This isn't a fancy place so don't rate it by those standards. What you'll get is a good-sized portion of good food for a great price. Many main courses fall in the 6-10 euro range. Menu del dia at around...More

I totally enjoyed the dinner here: typical Spanish atmosphere and food, mmm...Sangria, nice personnel, good value for money (we paid ~35EUR for 2 adults for lots of food (appetizers, main courses) and drinks). We were recommended to arrive there in time, close to the opening...More

We have traveled to Madrid about 10 times and found this place the first trip. No this is not fancy dining but for what you pay you get quite good food and although rushed friendly service. The first course of mostly vegetables are especially well...More

Also known as Barrio de las Letras, Huertas was once

neighborhood is committed to celebrating its rich
heritage: Calle Huertas itself is inlaid with quotes
from celebrated authors, street names pay homage to
them, and second-hand bookshops pervade. Huertas
receives a fair amount of spillover from the center —
