Although the place is very nice when we arrived, around 9pm we were the first and only ones. Not a good signal. When we left only a table of two joined us. They have no idea how to prepare good food. I had the octopus and was very poor with a burned rice with the ashes as some fashionable touch... More

This was the fist time ever we were turned down by a waiter (barely speaking English) just because we wanted to order "only coffee". Well, they can be sure we will not order anything else ever and tell so to our friends as well.

If you want traditional Spanish, LARGE portions and a place to go with the kids...don't come here! NAIA is a relaxing break from the normal here in Madrid. The night we visited at about 9:00pm, they werent busy yet. The 2 waitresses working the room were polite and knowledgeable of the menu and wine list...spoke English as well. Service well... More

Worst dining experience ever. Not impressed with limited meat and fish menu. Resorted to a burger. After a long wait, arrived raw inside. Politely and apologetically asked for it to be cooked further as I don't like raw meat. Came back almost the same. Staff obviously not happy and were quiet rude. Went off for a third time so they... We only had coffee and drinks at siesta time outside on the square on a Monday afternoon and everything including the service was to our satisfaction. I can imagine the restaurant being very good.

These guys do somethings really well, and others surprisingly poorly. Shaved foie is great. Pumpkin ravioli had great flavour but very over done. Fish tacos don't have much fish and was drowned in their mayo. I'd recommend creative tapas at La Musa across the street for double the food at half the Naia price. Positives: great location, cute ambience, good... More

If you like bistro style elegant food this is really a place to get a taste of New Spanish cousine. Absolutely fantastic dishes, elegantly presented. But so so tasty. From starters to dessert every dish was superb. The chef is innovative but offers still real food that tastes marvelous. The service was Ok - staff was young but got the... More

Loved the food here - we have eaten several lunches here and also an evening meal. The portions are not oversized (as they often are at Spanish restaurants) and the food is innovative and delicious. Sitting out outside in this shady square is a real pleasure on a hot day. The ceviche here was great for a hot day and... More

The restaurant is in a busy square full of bars. The restaurant it self is fantastic and very modern. It has a very cosy feeling but also a good vibe. There is a good choice of food with a good selection for vegetarian. It is well priced as well and they present the food amazingly well. This restaurant is a... More

Naia is located in the famous Plaza de la Paja in the heart of Madrid. It offers a creative and seasonal menu that combines new culinary trends with traditional dishes, providing some enjoyable surprises. In the elegant and welcoming dining room diners can enjoy dishes such as scallops with foie gras, a ruby port reduction and spiced toasts; tartare of prawns with white garlic and avocado ceviche; or Ibérico pork loin roasted with fresh figs and sherry. The restaurant has a chill-out area for drinks after dinner and in summer there is a large outdoor terrace.

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
