Got the set course and the flight. Really interesting and good food, with for example a surprising interpretation of Spanish tapas. But overall the impression was a bit cold and impersonal. We had a bit the feeling of being the next tourists in line, August in Madrid maybe.

We really enjoyed this small restaurant in Madrid. We only had the al la carte but were still served with some delightful starters from different places in Spain. The décor is refreshingly simple and elegant and the service was constant without being over bearing. Best part was, it was not expensive.

Nice addres for having a gourmet tapas dinner. In a beautiful neighbourhood they have a great wine list and the dishes are very well developded. It's Spanish food fusion. I recommend for those who really are foodies.

Inventive tasting menu with great wine pairing. Comparable with other 2 star Michelin restaurants. We particularly enjoyed the 'bookends' of the snacks and sweets. We enjoyed meeting the chef and discussing cuisine with him,

We made the right choice I think with the menu at €100 + a couple of glasses of wine each. The miniature tapas were great, the presentation very graphic without being overly sophisticated. The deconstructed kebab was interesting and the mignardise with the coffee were very good. Indeed compared to the other fine dining experience I had it was not... More

Waves of outstanding micro-food whether appetisers or desserts are not enough to convey an emotion I would have expected, even from the basic menu offer of that evening. They are not the minor issues who disturb (too many "are you satisfied" addressed, a bit too much salt quite everywhere from the otherwise very good 'garden of asparagus' to the meet,... More

Pretty good service but distracting in ways. More importantly, we chose the 15 course tasting menu of all of their dishes for almost 300 a person before drinks and there was not a single memorable dish, other than remembering which we liked the least. There was no excitement of flavor, many dishes were clearly prepared well in advance and several... More

I decided to have the full tasting menu which included everything. Glad I did as I did not want to miss out on anything! The selection of famous tapas from around Spain as an amuse bouche was wonderful and they tasted seriously good. The rest of the menu was a wonderful progression through seafood and meat. The desserts to finish... More

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Sergi Arola, and for the price we were not at all wowed. In fact, we left wondering why it's a two star. It was our most expensive meal the entire trip (we went to other Michelin star restaurants), and by far our least favorite. Now don't get me wrong, the food and... More

Staying in Chamberi

Neighborhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighborhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
