Everything was amazing. We had the tuna tartare as a starter and it was just delicious, the seasoning was fantastic. Then we had steak tartare and the hake meunière and they were both great. The waiters that helped us Luis and Ramon (not sure if...the last is exact) were also super professional and attentive. I definitely recommend this place, a wonderful experience!More

The restaurant is located on the second floor of a nice historic building. We ordered americano coffee and detox green smoothies. I had an avocado and ground tomato toast (The avocado was fresh and cut in thin slices). Also, The waiter suggested to me tuna...toast which one was surprisingly delicious. I said that because I didn’t have tuna toast for breakfast before. The tuna looked like it was cooked at the restauran not from a can. We enjoyed our breakfast. Overall, breakfast was excellent. Good service.More

Came here for a quick stop for lunch and we sat outside it was lovely. There’s only a few tables outdoor, but the service was great and food was delicious!

I don't understand the bad reviews of this place. We went here for lunch on a recommendation from a local. We did not have a reservation but they were able to get us in. All of the food we had was absolutely fantastic..we tried a...tomato salad that was out of this world, patatas bravas, the salted cod, and some stuffed peppers. The service was also great! We decided to go back on our last day in Madrid so made a reservation because it had gotten busy by the time we left the first time. yes, there is a time limit on the table but that seems to be most places in Madrid. We ordered some of the same items again this time but also tried 2 desserts that were also phenomenal. It was honestly some of the best food we had in Madrid!More

As we got in with reservations 8PM we where greeted with…” you have to leave by 9:30PM” No COVID protocols followed. We have to call the server several times. The positive side is the food was good. We had croquettes, bonito meatballs and black rice...with a bottle of wine. It was bothersome that at 9PM they where circling the table like saying … get out. We are nit custom to this type of service that was terrible.More

Mediocre service: No hospitality ethics at all, from the hostess to the "manager". We went for cocktails and the famous tortilla, 3 people, several tables available, and with the most unprofessional attitude from the hostess to the gentleman in charge, they told us -"they were...not prepared so they did not have enough food"..... Not even offering us to stay for drinks and a simple plate of olives? .... #terribleserviceMore

I went to La Primera for a late lunch/early dinner as a solo. No issues with being seated at a very nice table. Restaurant was still crowded in the late afternoon. It is on the second floor and there is no elevator. The waiter suggested...a tortilla plate and an artichoke plate with a glass of white wine. Food was delicious. I would recommend this restaurant but if for dinner, you will need a reservation.More

We went here my first night in Spain. I would say it was a good restaurant and had one of the best cheesecakes I’ve eaten. However when I went back a couple of days later at 12:30am (hours of close are 2am) to have an...after dinner cocktail and another piece of the aforementioned cheesecake I was told they were closed. Normally this would be ok, I work in the service industry, but they had 20 people in the bar. There is no way they were closing in the next 30 minutes, let alone right away. I even said this to the bartender and the manager but they were so intent on getting closed no matter what they would not serve even a drink let alone a cheesecake. Extremely poor service and obviously not intent on growing or keeping the business they have. Sad, because it takes so much to grow a business but to hurt one just takes a couple of people who just don’t want to finish the shift.More

It’s a surprise to see the rave reviews of this mediocre restaurant on Trip Advisor. The food was bland and mushy (suspect frozen a heated up). I sent back the artichokes, supposedly a house specialty, as they had been drowned in oil, overcooked and painfully...unattractive. The waiters were polite but got my order wrong and we had to get them to take off a mystery charge from the bill. Saving grace is that the wine was lovely and they gave us two complimentary glasses for our troubles. We came back to our apartment and made some fresh veg and chicken regretting the departure of our €67.More

Great food, great location, manager was not as friendly and warm as in other restaurants of the kind Totally HORRIBLE that the give you 1 hours and 30 minutes limit to take dinner, whatever you order....so, if you want to have a vermut, first, second...course, desert, coffee and Gin tonic...be ready to eat like in a buffetMore

Beautiful brunch and unbelievably good value for money. We both had a Combo, one with tortilla and the other Scrambled egg with bacon, fruit, and coffee 5.50 euros. The design, furniture, lighting is all beautifully executed. The tortilla is one of the best we have...had in Madrid. Simply superb! Service was fast, efficient, and friendly. A true find in the center of Madrid.More

We went here with friends from our tour group upon their recommendation from a previous visit. This turned out to be the culinary highlight of our trip. Beautiful setting for dinner. High-quality food. And excellent service. Our primary server did not speak much English, but...the manager and another waiter did, and they stepped in to assist with ease. And even our primary server knew enough English to laugh at our jokes. You definitely will want to make a reservation in advance. And be prepared to have a time limit on your table, as they reserve them back to back.More
