First night in Madrid, several places were recommended near our hotel. We choose Topolino. Very reasonable , 8,98€ for a vast buffet of local dishes. House wine was good. We stopped by early by Spanish standards. As the even progressed it fill with many locals.

The quality and service of this restaurant is horrible. The food made several people sick. Don't eat here.

You get what you pay for. An all you can eat buffet on a main street in madrid delivers straight forward salat bar, pizza, pasta etc. OK place to feed the kids. Would never go just with the wife.

Good for the price though extras like drinks soon push up the cost. There is a menu but none of the staff bothered to ask if we wanted something from the menu and assumed we would have the buffet. There was a good variety of foods (salads, some hot meat foods, pizzas, pastas, desserts and fresh fruits) which you could... More

Location was near city centre , dining place upstairs seem small , but price was reasonable enough, at almost 9 euros ( pay a little more for the preferred drinks ). Service was very attentive. The buffet however was the star of the show, with numerous selections , such as the different appetizers and salads , thick cut slices of... More

Although the name sounds Italian, this VERY BIG BUFFET offers not only pasta and pizzas, but also several international dishes such as Spanish paella, rosbeef, etc., all for a very reasonable price. A large section contains several salads to begin with, before you change your starter dish (but NOT your fork and knife, which will have to follow you all... More

For just 10 euros you get, in the basement floor, a buffet lunch (and you can return to take more), with a great selection. The location is right in the center of some of Madrid's attractions (not far from Plaza Mayor)- a walking distance, The combination of wide selection and the price- make the difference!

This is a great find in Madrid for an open buffet. Quality of food is very high, fresh and nice choices of healthy Spanish, Italian and Mediterranean food. And the best price! Only 8.95 Euros! I stuffed myself with a nice salad, great chicken soup, followed by tasty paella and pizza. And tasty creme caramel. I amgoingback during my next... More

Staying in Centro

Neighborhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
