Having read the reviews I decided to give La Escondida a try. What a great decision. At the start of our meal we were the only people in the place, the owner couldn't have been more helpful and we followed his recommendations for starters, mains and wine. All were excellent and very good value. We ate the cheese and then... More

I had an unforgettable business lunch at "La Escondida". My host knew the place well and I felt very comfortable at once. It is a small place, very cozy in a modern and simple way and the staff is very efficient and friendly. We had mixed starters (melted cheese, roasted mixed vegetables) and then ordered our sirloin stake (I like... More

We went for lunch and were the first diners to arrive. The Provoletta was a good starter. We ordered lomo steaks which were a bit too rare but they happily took them back for more cooking. The wine and the service was very good. The only issue was the noise level. The dining room seats 28 people. Shortly after our... More

Well another trip to this hidden treasure on our last night in Madrid . We ordered the sausages and salad for starters and then mr beef for the mains and could not fault the beef . Well cooked and we chose a six year old Ribera del Douro wine which was beautiful. The waiter whose English is far better than... More

What an experience. Value for money. Hard to find as a foreigner without tripadvisor, but when in the area a must visit place. Friendly staff and nice place. Only Spanish, but waiter does his best to explain. I'll be back next time when I am in Madrid.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening prior to flying back to the States due to all of the astounding reviews on Tripadvisor. We obtained a cab from Hotel Maydrit to the restaurant, though it was only 3 km away. Contrary to what others have posted, the residential neighborhood in which it resides seems quite safe... More

Staff was very helpful explaining me everything in details from spanish only menu. Really good appetizers like grilled italian cheese provolone with condiments, original salad with so many ingredients, I think it is typical Argentine cuisine. Like their famous "lomo" steaks. Of course we we ordered these steaks and were very pleased. Definitely we want to return.

Fantastic food and friendly service. We will plan our flights to allow for a couple of hours to visit this restaurant. We had Filet Mignon with grilled Foie Gras on top - heavenly! Very moderate prices

If you are staying at or near the Melia Barajas, this cozy restaurant is a five minute walk away that will amaze you. The restaurant offers inside and outside dining. During a layover on a trip to the Middle East, I chose my flights based on having the opportunity to stop for a great meal. I have tried sweat-breads at... More
