We tried Tepic in Madrid. Food was insipid. Not real mexican. Drinks were terrible. The place was more like industrial decorated with a few cactus all over. Not mexican feeling at all. I would not recommend this place. The service was good though. Waitress was very nice and willing to help us with our choices for food but if you... More

Good service, the guys were very friendly and tried to help us everyway possible. Dinner was good, starters were amazing.. We had the spicy chicken, guacamole and a beef starter. Amazing! For mains we had the tacos pulled pork and pork in its own juice, good but not as perfect as the starters. Good cocktails and a cozy surrounding however... More

My son in law booked a table for 5 for 2:15....including a just less than 5 year old < her brother was at day care.>. We were seated with the assistance of two waiters and the maitre d'. Throughout our 2 hour visit the just less than 5 year was handled as any other client....with attention and respect....the wait staff... More

A handsome restaurant with nice lighting though a bit too loud. Service was fair and the food was similar. Margaritas are too sweet though there is an ample selection of tequilas. Tacos de cochinillo pibil were bland and forgettable. Overall, this is a place to go once with a medium sized group when searching for an average place to go... More

Went to Madrid for the weekend with a few friends. Food at Tepic relies heavily on sauces to taste of something, and the margaritas were practically a slush. In the end they tried to overcharge us for five margaritas that never got delivered.

We went for a quick stop.. a margarita, a michelada and some alambre beef tacos. All done perfectly, authentic corn tortilla and good spiced. Lovely service by the English bartender that with a limited knowledge of spanish managed to give is a great service and a 1st world margarita, it's good to have a proper cocktelero! Well done Tepic! Awesome location and decor, and very good service. However, food was bland and absolutely lacking any creativity. While you can debate the "authenticity" of the dishes all day long, the real point is that the food was uninspired. Tortillas were rubbery, and the carnitas were dry - the chorizo in the queso fundido had no flavor, just grease. For upscale... More

If you're willing to spend a bit more money for real Mexican food, go here. We had three different kinds of tacos plus guacamole and it was all so tasty! Staff was very nice too

Great location in Salamanca, average food, high prices. Service not so good, waiters do not speak good English, therefore certain mistakes happened with food. Small portions. Only soft tacos, the only crunchy one is cheese taco which is not good..

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
