Really very good food in a pleasant unassuming environment with absolutely helpful and friendly staff. Very good value for money. We recommend in particular the Octopus, the baked cheese with basil, paella and our 10 yr old adored the pork ribs. Very much recommend the restaurant.

We had a great time in this restaurant. The food was amazing and the service was very good as well. Don't miss the black paella with see food. Also the tartar tuna was great.

My fiancé and I found this charming little restaurant on trip advisor with amazing reviews and we're going to add another one. It didn't disappoint. We were greeted so kindly, the service was second to none. We went for the tapas which came out one by one (not something we're used to but I liked it) and the potions are... More

We went to Gastromaquia having read the reviews on Tripadvisor. Our experience was mixed - the service is very friendly and the prices keen - our bill for 3 was c120 Euros incl wine so its good value. Its just that the food was quite mixed. The Tuna tartare and goats cheese were excellent. The Tandoori mussels and acquired taste... More

Amazing food I could have chosen any one of the many dishes and the ones we chose were excellent. The goats cheese basil and honey starter was a new experience and really went well together. Staff seemed to care about us and were very attentive without being overbearing. All in all we had a lovely evening and would definitely repeat... More

We went there after gran via visit. Found the place by tripadvisor. İt's small cozy warm place. Two waitress served, they were very fast and warm, they're speaking with a good english (in madrid nobody knows english). We ordered tuna tartar, goat cheese with honey, grilled octopus, patates bravas, 2 coke,2 glass of white wine, and a desert. We paid... More

Visited tonight with friends for my first visit. Wow! The wait staff were attentive and helpful. Our waiter guided us through the menu and was most helpful in suggesting items for the vegan in our group. Can't say enough about the food. Creative and delicious. Great value.

After reading a couple of reviews about how good the food was, we decided to go. It lived up to the reviews: the food was amazingly tasty, the service friendly & attentive. My advice: book a table & go

Staying in Chueca

Neighborhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighborhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
