I have a dinner in this place in the center of La Latina. We tried two pintos, One with hamburger and One with fish on the bread and a dish with eggs and potatoes. My expectation was higher than reality. There are too many ingredients and in my opinion some combination of these aren t not so appropriated. The personal... More

My husband and I have eaten at the other location on Ibiza many times and liked it, so when we moved to La Latina, we were delighted to learn that there was another Txirimiri location right around the corner. We ordered the "fake" fish risotto, the solomillo (steak), the idiazabal cheese fritters, and the veal cheeks and everything was perfectly... More

Tortilla was delicious and soft in the middle, exactly like it's supposed to be. Great variety of pintxos and not only traditional ones (i.e. A mushroom curry one) and tapas. Had the fried cheese balls, stuffed peppers with meat, bolero-truffle-jamon croquetas were like an explosion of flavor 👍🏼😁 Staff was super friendly and smiling! Also spoke English. Thank you guys!... Positive Points: - The food is amazing, very fresh and tasty. - The waiter was very friendly and kind. Negative points: - The menu claims there's a surcharge for the food taken on the dining room, but you can't have a meal on the part of bar. So you have to pay the surcharge no matter what. - The food... More

Following our free walking tour, Gonzalo, our guide took us on a tapas tour and this was the second of the three we were taken to. Excellent range of tapas and drinks. This was a bar that the locals go to and the atmosphere was very authentic. The service was welcoming and helpful.

The place is very nice and trendy, with both a bar to take some drinks and a little restaurant (20-25 pax) to have a meal. We took the traditional tortilla de patatas (Spanish omelette), a ventresca salad and the roasted squid. Everything was tasty and fresh. Waitress was kind and polite. I would come back again!

I agree with one of the previous reviews that says 'don't let the exterior fool you' - we very nearly didn't go in but I'm very glad we did! It was our first evening in Madrid - we were starving and ready to dive into some tapas. We couldn't have chosen a better place to start. We arrived at about... More

The restaurant is small and has a very simple dining area but the food id anything but simple with a modern take on Tapas as well as main dishes. The waiter was very helpful assisting us with our selection from the menu. Particularly loved the beef tenderloin.

Good spot for tapas near el Rastro. Tried the foie with fig jam and it was to die for. I went in early and it was rather empty but it was soon filled up with locals.

Open from noon until midnight this contemporary take on Spanish tapas is excellent. It is mainly eat at the counter bar style and some dishes are under glass on the counter for you to view. A local recommended we come here for the foie (which is the proper door medallion, not pate de froies gras) and the tortilla (which was... More

Staying in La Latina

Neighborhood Profile
La Latina
La Latina is a charming neighborhood with two unique personalities. At first glance, it’s distinctly old-world, with narrow streets weaving a maze among charming stone buildings in sunny, bright colors like yellow and pink. The other side of La Latina is characterized by a young population and a bohemian vibe, as evidenced by a dynamic and evolving selection of new bars, shops, coworking spaces, and other businesses popping up in the area. In the northern part of the neighborhood, the Cava Alta and Cava Baja streets constitute the tapas center of Madrid, where each age-old restaurant serves up distinctive specialties like huevos rotos and patatas bravas. Locals have come here for generations to while away hours over drinks and tapas with friends. On Sundays and public holidays, the streets to the south of La Latina metro station transform into a giant open-air market full of locals sifting through tent after tent of art, apparel, and antiques. Any day of the week, the intriguing blend of the traditional and the hip make the streets of La Latina worth exploring.
