Modern concept regarding food (medium portions, nicely presented, low-fat, low on garlic)and ambiance (modern furniture, little decoration, international metropolitan look). Friendly staff. Little knowledge of English and only Spanish written menu which demands patience of waiters when customers do not speak Spanish (we experienced this fact in most Madrid eating venues). Prices are rather high, but considering the quality and... More

We ate here eight years ago, on the outdoor patio and enjoyed one of the most memorable dining experiences in our lives. The vegetable tempura is unreal, I had the blue fin tuna (rare) and the apple cake for dessert. The service was excellent, as were the suggestions for wine. The waiter followed us out to make certain we were... More

Iroco has a very beautiful courtyard at the back of the restaurant. Service is actually quite nice but the food is quite disappointing.

We booked via the 40% off Fork website but when I requested dining on the Terrace we were informed via email that this discount didn't apply. Not to worry as this is a special restaurant with first class service, a unique and sophisticated dining terrace which is the star of the show and the food is high calibre too. Effectively... More

Very interesting menu, not typical Spanish, but some dishes definitely inspired by the Spanish cuisine. Very nice atmosphere in the garden.

Booked this restaurant for three people (US business clients) Food was ok. We sat outside, although we did not know it cost an extra 10% to do so. The inside was completely empty both when we arrived and when we finally left. I tried to pay with Amex but they refused it. I then tried to pay with my corporate... More

As a recommendation from a friend who's lived in Madrid, we thoroughly enjoyed our dinning experience. A lovely patio in the back filled with trees in the middle of the city, made for a lovely evening. Our waiter was wonderful and gave us great suggestions - the seared tuna was outstanding.

Have been traveling through Spain the past 2-weeks and this has been one of our favorite meals. On the advice of a Madrid local, we first went to another restaurant and they made us feel so unwelcome as we didn't speak Spanish, so we left and came it Iroco and glad we did. Our server, Abdul, made us feel very... More

The food was good, service has to be improved. Has a nice inner courtyard for dining out side. Not a must if in madrid. A good option if you are in the neighborhood.

Staying in Barrio de Salamanca

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio de Salamanca
Broad, tree-lined avenues with pretty streetlights frame the neighborhood of Barrio Salamanca. With beautiful condominium buildings that make up most blocks in this area, this part of town is refined and quiet. It is also host to a few of the city's large shopping avenues, including Calle Serrano and Calle Jose Ortega y Gasset. A walk down these streets will reveal upscale chains, small boutiques, and plenty of opportunities for shopping or checking out the stylish displays. The locals here are polished and fashionable, the atmosphere is leisurely, and the lush Retiro Park on the southern border is yet another opportunity to enjoy the outdoors. A stroll through Barrio Salamanca is all about admiring the beautiful architecture, window-shopping, and people-watching in this upper-crust corner of Madrid.
