I have to agree with all the poor and terrible reviews of this place.
The food was bland and uninspiring . This wasn’t particularly surprising as it as a “tourist trap” however the the worst thing about this place was the service. We waited nearly...15 minutes for our order to be taken. We were about to leave when the lady who coaxed is in hurriedly fetched the waiter to take our order. Big mistake we should have left.
Our order was taken by grumpy middle aged balding man who grunted questions at us. No greeting, no smile . When one of the dishes wasn’t available that day he informed us in a curt , sour manner. He acted like we were bothering him by our very presence.
The food arrived sometime later and as I said before it wasn’t great.
We couldn’t wait to leave. In retrospect we share part of the blame as our instincts told us not to go in but we were hungry.
If bad service and bad food is your thing, this is the place for you!More
Worse customer service I have ever experienced, the person who served us which I assume was the owner was so rude and dismissive we left before our order arrived. Have eaten here previously and had witnessed this person being rude to other customers but up...until this time had never been served by him. Will never return and I suggest people try one of the numerous places close by.More
Tried this place out for our last meal in Gibraltar. Having been stung by tardy and ineffectual service at another couple of restaurants on our stay I'm delighted to say that the quality of both service and food was excellent.
We were seated and attended...promptly and all of the food services were of high quality.More
Of the many restaurants in Casement Square we were attracted by the welcoming nature of JJ. The food matched the welcome with the Rosada outstanding, so fresh and light and with a light batter. The calamari are also to be recommended. Throughout our meal JJ...kept us entertained without in any way being obtrusive. Would happily return on any future visit to Gibraltar.More
Decided to leave the miserable Hatfield for a quick holiday, so popped over to Gib for a quick trip and managed to find this gem of a place to have a quick bite.
Was ABSOLUTELY AMAZED by the food here - the owner and staff...are so nice and catered for all of our needs and dietary requirements.
The chicken korma was absolutely amazing and made me feel like I was back in India after so many years - so succulent and juicy. Even their pilau rice was outstanding and fluffy and fresh!
To top it off, we had some amazing gib carrot cake which was so fresh and moist!
Will definitely visit again, and have already made a reservation for my next birthday!More
