Had an amazing night at Brunos for their Ed Sheeran tribute. Graham, the owner went out of his way to accomodate us and our dietary needs. The food was fabulous, the staff were super attentive and lovely. Jai (Ed Sheeran) was excellent, such a fabulous...singer. The atmosphere was buzzing. Best night in ages!More

Came here as recommended by my friend who has been working in Gibraltar since January. Had the best steak (medium rare) I've ever, EVER, had. Staff are ALWAYS walking through to see who needs attention/service and are very friendly and amenable. Prices are very reasonable....Would throughly recommend - thank you so much.More

Have been going to Bruno’s for many years but won’t be going again as it’s gone down will as many other locals have also commented since it was taken over. Ordered Thai beef Salad and when it arrived was beef noodles! When I told the...waiter he said he new the salad had no salad and was actually noodles! No apology or offer to change even though they new it was there mistake and misleading. (What if you are allergic to noodles?) The waiter then dropped 2 pints of larger over my friend by accident who was soaked from head to toe, and meal full of larger ,he was very apologetic and said the food would be free but no offer to replace his meal (The same waiter had dropped gases elsewhere moments before) We asked for the bill as he was now cold and uncomfortable which had a discount of only his meal which he could not eat, not even a discount on the beef salad which was not eaten as it had noodles. Never again!More

After reopening from lockdown, Bruno's is still one of the more popular places to go for drinks on a Friday night in OV. The staff are always friendly. There is a good range of drinks and cocktails. Atmosphere can be good. it is however disappointing...that Brunos appears to be going downhill in terms of food. I would not recommend eating there. There are a lot of more attractive options nearby. Over the last two months I have visited Brunos on many occasions and at this point I have tried mostly all the sharing platters, small plates and main courses on the new menu in search of something good. Overall the quality of the food is good, but the portions are ridiculously small. A small plate is so small it should be renamed a "tapa" - although at £6.95 it's an expensive "tapa". The sharing plate at £21, is essentially the size of 3 or 4 small plates. You could order 2 or 3 sharing plates for 1 person and still be hungry. The main courses are approximately half the size of a main at any other restaurant nearby - although the main courses are priced slightly higher than some of the nearby restaurants. If you do eat there you might want to consider ordering two mains for yourself, instead of one. In my opinion this new menu is hurting their reputation and it is reflected by the fact that the restaurant is now often empty. Its a shame as often in busy restaurants a good food menu will bring in the customers and the restaurant will make most of its profit from the sale of drinks consumed - not the food itself. Hope they fix the menu soon before the reputation is fully cemented with the locals. Unlike the old days, there just aren't enough tourists around to keep businesses like this open these days.More

Enjoyed atmosphere.great happy hour experience and attentive staff. If sitting outside lack of heating. There are three heaters to service the outside space - 2 not working.Other adjoining bars provide portable gas heaters.

We were staying nearby and headed to Ocean Village on our first evening. I have to say Ocean Village is completely underwhelming. We headed to Bruno’s which was ok. The food was ok, drinks cheap, but certainly nothing special. There was little atmosphere in this...very lofty bar.More

My first night out of quarantine I was unlucky enough to wander into Bruno’s. Well, I didn’t wander in, I waited at the entrance to be seated. Finally one of the employees noticed me, and as they approached, so did a gang of other ones...who literally brushed against me as they grabbed something off the table at the entrance. (Remember, this is the time of covid and social distancing). The unenthusiastic staff member who greeted me told me to sit wherever. I chose a table outside. I waited an extended period and finally waved down a blonde waitress and asked for a menu. Instead, she brought a piece of paper and asked me to put down my name and phone number. (Not like that guys, it seems everyone was required to). I don’t usually like giving my name phone number address or professional info to wait staff. Quite awhile later, another waiter was passing by and asked if I had been helped. I told him that I thought the waitress was bribing me a menu but asked for a cider, as it had been 10 minutes. Another 10 minutes later, I got the cider, but no menu. I told the waiter that the waitress must’ve forgot the menu. It was brought. Looking through it, I saw a couple options that looked alright, including the fajitas which came with guacamole and “salsa sauce.” (Are we not a mile from Spain? Isn’t “salsa sauce” a bit redundant?) Steering away from the fajitas and the burger with “special relish” I opted for scampi. How bad could they possibly mess that up? The answer is: pretty bad. The scampi could be considered food...I suppose...but I think they went to the Burger King I walked past on the way, bought fries there, and dumped them on the plate. Having starved in quarantine for 5 days, I ate all the scampi but couldn’t handle the fries or the frozen peas in a cup. I had to flag down a member of the wait staff for every single thing I wanted, and was never helped by the same person twice. That’s why I left no tip. When I flagged down the guy who brought the check, (I had been there unattended for an hour total), I asked if the casino across the sidewalk had a bar. If Bruno’s really is the number one bar in Gibraltar, I’m in for a huge disappointment for the rest of the trip. Oh, the lanky male bartender in the red shirt who became extremely excited when a techno song came on, and just had to go to the DJ booth and program more of that crap, kept removing his mask to blow his nose behind the bar. I watched him not wash or sanitize his hands after, and proceed to mix a drink. I should’ve taken a picture. All in all, this was the worst dining experience I’ve had since my last trip to Honduras. I CAN’T RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM HERE ENOUGH. I’ll never go back, and I’m here for over 3 more weeks on the way to England.More

The table service was very very slow. The staff were very rude, inconsiderate and obnoxious. We enjoyed the stay till the end when the staff had failed to serve us for over half hour and we questioned then, their response was to shout at us...and ask us to leave. Manners cost nothing.More
