The absolute worst ham and cheese toastie sandwich I have ever half eaten. My friends had the fish and chips which were just about edible.

Food was disgusting, steak pie and chips were so dry, there was no gray inside. The chips were cooked from frozen. The spanish omelette was not cooked properly and was tasteless. It was from a packet. When raised with the server she told us she...liked it like that. We also said the steak pies were dry, her attitude was oh well, here's the bill. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. It says best British Fish and Chips which is a crime against fish and chips. Rubbish food, appalling service and expensive.More

Dreadful, water coming out of the frozen fish, soggy pasta glued together with so called sauce. To sum up, avoid at all costs wouldn’t ‘eat’ their again if paid, really it was that bad.

We were drawn to the best Fish & Chips in Gib sign. Well... asked if it was cod, told yes. When it arrived the fish flesh was pink!! Frozen fries and tarter looked like mayo with a pinch of herbs. When the Manager was called...he was insistent that it was cod. I've never had a pink cod before and it smelled off. No apology from the manager just 'don't eat it then!' And took it away. Don't recommend this place and it certainly is not the best Fish & chips. Run by Spanish with a funny idea that it's the best English fish and chips. AVOID unless you want to pay £17 for substandard food and service.More

Its a tourist trap. Located right in the city center which is the only plus. Food is low quality, tastes like straight from the supermarket. Overpriced. WiFi does not work. Avoid if you can.

Fish and chips advertised - it was fish and French fries! Not even chips… And not many of them, at that. The fish was nice. Really expensive at £16 each and a small bottle of water was £3.50. Plus a charge for table service of...£2.50 - felt really ripped off compared to other places. We ordered inside and paid inside - so hardly full table service! Go somewhere else!More

We visited at lunch time and sat at tables outside. We had to wait a long time to be served, but eventually ordered drinks and toasted sandwiches. The toasted sandwiches were dry and tasteless, the cheese hadn’t been melted properly. We couldn’t attract the waitresses...to tell her, so we paid and left. Really wouldn’t recommend this bar.More

Terrible tourist spot. Tasteless food with the skin still on the fish inside the batter; asked for a bitter and got a San Miguel; very expensive. Will be remembered as the worst food place in a year of travelling.

This place was busy so we sat here thinking it would be good food. We had to wait a very long time to get served, and we should have taken the hint from the table next to us who said that they were waiting over...an hour, but we still ordered. The food was so terrible. Its basic, we had fish and chips, tuna sandwiches and a burger. All tasted so bad and the prices are an absolute joke. The inside of the restaurant was dirty and the toilets were awful and not clean and i put the staff out asking for some toilet roll. Don't tip because there was a service charge added, even the beer was awful, how can you get it so wrong! Good luck if you do decide to eat here.More

Sat outside the fish & chip bar and enquired about a bottle of white wine. Said they only have house white. My fault should have asked the price as they charged £30 for a £5.00 bottle of white. Avoid

Terrible. Very expensive 14.50 for small piece of fish ,frozen chips , the peas weren't mushy peas they were mashed up garden peas and the portion size was very small . Never ever known a fish and chip shop serve frozen chips . The bought...in , warmed up meat pie was awful for 13.50 ,disgraceful That was bad enough but 3.50 for a can of pepsi is a scandal . Not to mention the £2 table service charge . British fish and chips I don't think so Terrible placeMore

First time at Gibralter and after wandering looking for somewhere for lunch came to Bistro 292 and there was an available table. It advertises itself as serving British Fish and Chips 🤦‍♀️. It was a bit on the pricey side so myself and partner decided...on toasted sandwich each, portion of chips to share and we had 2 bottles of water. I ordered a cheese and ham sandwich and thought a real portion of British chips would make lunch a bit better, how wrong was I, the chips were awful and were obviously frozen chips. Total cost of what we had was £26. Such a shame to remember Gibralter where I had the worst sandwich and chips ever, must pay more attention and google venue on Trip Advisor next time.More
