Food and ambience

Location and contact

Choose Our area Located in the heart of Vigo's touristic zone, Casa Vella lets you enjoy the best dishes in a cozy atmosphere that contrasts with the famous and picturesque Oysters Street, full of dynamism and movement. Next to it, A Pedra market and the selling of seafood and oysters make this place one of the most emblematic places of the city. We always opt for products of the highest quality, which we utilize both in our specialties, like grilled seafood and lobster rice, and in simpler dishes and varied 'tapas'.

Be sure to ask what is fresh that day. We had grilled whole sea bass and sole. Both were delicious and perfectly cooked. We started off with a complimentary empanada of tuna and sweet pepper, then had a mixed salad and the seafood soup. Both...More

High-quality, extremely fresh seafood. Traditional fare superbly executed. We went there for percebes and were crestfallen when the waiter said there might not be any left, but fortunately there were. We also had a fish soup that was light and delicious, and padron (peppers). Excellent...More

Stopped by based on TA recommendations, not too bad. The scallops, razor clams, prawns and pulpo was very good. Actually we had not ordered the pulpo but in typical tourist style they delivered to our table and the old language barrier is useful when you...More

The restaurant is set within a street with many other restaurants but I believe that Casa Vella was the best. The waiters were very friendly and helpful especially as we didn’t speak much Spanish. They were great with my children and even gave them lollipops...More

V attentive staff. Food generally good but octopus not as tasty as other restaurants we tried. Calamari excellent. Mussels good. Nice atmosphere on street - covered which helps when it rains. Wine excellent as always.

Because of the huge fishing industry in Vigo there is interesting sea food around. We found the Casa Vella the most welcoming of the restaurants in the Rua Pescadoria with simply cooked sea food served with excellent Galician wine ( first class desserts as well)
