Super busy all the time but worth the wait for dinner. Locals and tourists alike pack in waiting for a table. Great pulpo and house vino.

The meal I ate at O Gato Negro was one of my favorites of the three weeks I spent in Spain. Yes, it can be a bit crowded, but the meal was absolutely worth the wait. The crowd seemed to consist of mostly locals, which is always a good sign! We had padron peppers, cheese, octopus and tarta de Santiago... More

Being Spanish myself, I know what makes a great tapas bar and what does not. Believe me, O Gato Negro is everything a good tapas bar shouldn´t be: unfriendly, over-crowded, over-valued and smelly.

In my opinion, for its price a high quality food. And the bests mussels I've ever eaten. The bad side is that it's too popular and becames very crowded.

We each had the home style galician soup - hearty and chunky vegie soup and followed up by different tapas type small plates including a wonderful potato dish, padron peppers, mustard cream fish and slices of incredibly fresh octopus

Well, I guess this place is a lot about expectation management. Having visiting other tapas places in the city expectations were high on this place. The atmosphere have good vibes; really simple and down to earth. This signaled they were focusing on the food, which is what it's all about. However, the food never were quite up there. We ordered... It doesn't look spectacular but it doesn't necessarily has to as the food speak for it self! I had for the first time Percebes, super yummy and also the rest of the food was amazing! The service super friendly and kind👏🏼

We heard about this restaurant from some other walkers along the Camino and it was amazing! We loved how we could mingle with the locals and try all sorts of local food. Between the two of us, we tried many dishes and everything was delicious! It was very busy but the atmosphere was so great. This was our favorite place... More

This is a very local hangout. Cheap wine and great tapas. What more can you ask for. Highly recommended!

My Spanish relative told me about Gato Negro, so I trusted his advice when a close French friend who like me had arrived from le Puy in central France on the Camino de Santiago asked my advice for dinner. Up to me: a Michelin-rated restaurant or a local dive...for his birthday. My friend had never had octopus and knew calimari... More
