We walked by this place twice earlier, and decided we'd try it for dinner - and we weren't disappointed! Excellent choice of Tapas, the bar was packed so we had to sit in the back at a table, but our waitress walked with us to the bar and we selected which ones - Shrimp, Crab, Clams - they were all... This has become a must do when in Santiago and by now we have sent many other people there who enjoyed as much as we always do. Ok, it is very busy, but isn't this a good sign? ;)

Had a late tapas lunch here with two friends and all three thought tapas were good, although the only one very good was the polpo. Service was friendly and professional and although very busy drinks arrived within 2 minutes from ordering and food between 5 to 10 minutes. The presentation of the tapas at the entry is quite a colorful... More

Extensive selection of spanish food, great place to go in group and to try plenty of dishes. Loved the Albariño which was recommended, Paco & Lola!! Well located 3 mins from the cathedral. Worth trying, cannot go wrong!

Purposely headed for this place while in Santiago. Took a friend, who was delighted with it. Had a little wait for a table, but once seated the service was excellent and very friendly. Food delicious and beautifully served. It's tapas, but served in style. Good bottle of Albarino wine for €13. My companion is a seafood lover, I'm not. Menu... More

Lunch with wine came to just over 20€, amazing. Very fresh tapas with some good fish options. Super friendly staff. Right in the centre of town.

This was the first place we ate on arriving, recommended by the tourist office, and we loved it we sat at the tables and five tapas dishes, tasty and filling. When we returned to Santiago at the end of our trip we went again and ate at the bar. Lovely food helpful service would happily eat here again.

It is certainly possible to treat A Taberna do Bispo as a tapas bar and just have one dish and wine at the bar or standing up. However, they have tables at the back and once seated they will bring you a printed menu and a wine list. We did that, and my companion went up to the bar with... More
