We dined at three of four different Tapas Bars whilst in Sitges and El Cable was definitely one of the best. The Bar was predominantly filled with locals with a few tourists thrown in too (like us), all of whom either stood at the bar,...More

I've been past this place a few times and it's always packed so decided to see what it was all about. The menu is fine, pretty typical and they have tried adding 3 or 4 more interesting tapas dishes but it was generally all a...More

We visited on a rainy, Monday evening and, as usual, had to wait a little while for a table. Staff were a bit unsmiling and curt, but eventually we were seated, and the waiter was a little more friendly. We ordered a selection of tapas-...More

Very popular local tapas bar, excellent range of food and casked wines and spirits. Delicious tapas, you will need to wait for a table however we didn't mind standing at the bar enjoying ours - Highly recommended!

The tapas are excellent, and the beer and wine are cheap. El Cable is a bustling, busy place. The service is fast and friendly, but this is not a place where you will get lots of attention.

Following a tip off from a local, we visited El Cable last night and boy, in glad we did. We managed to get a table before the crowds (of locals/in the knows) arrived in their masses. We had a couple of vermouths (a speciality) before...More

Taking advice from some fellow Tripadvisor reviewers, we made our way to El Cable for authentic tapas. And we weren't disappointed! It was frantic when we arrived, but we were soon reassured by a wink from one of the bar staff that he knew we...More

You get great tapas but be prepared to wait for a table as its so popular. Service however is always quick. The fried Aubergine which comes with a honey dip is a favourite of ours. It's busy, noisy and fun to be a part of,...More

El Cable is a typical tapas bar with good quality food. Locals will send you this way if you ask for a place with cold beer and well-priced tapas. Because it is busy, you will probably be standing, instead of sitting at a table, but...More

I have visited this restaurant a few times in recent years and always found the staff to be very friendly and attentive so I was surprised to read some reviews about their poor attitude; I've never experienced this. The restaurant has a good variety of...More

Description
El Cable is a Tapas Bar in Sitges. Our tapas are really tasty (our customers say that they are the best tapas in Sitges and around). Some of our tapas have the best reputation in town, such as, Patatas Bravas (french fries with a spicy sauce), squid roman style (fried rings) or our homemade ham croquettes, to name but afew. And we have been in this business for years:The Andreu family opened el Cable in 1940, in a different premises not far from where the bar is located now. In February of 1956 we opened el Cable where it is now. The whole building was built by members of the same family. In the beginning, the first floor was the family’s home and the upper floors were guestrooms (a hostel). In the sixties we lived through the northern tourism boom working as a bar and hostel. In the late sixties the bar was given to one of the family son´s: Sisco Andreu (Sisco del Cable) and the rest of the building stopped working as a hostel and was turned into apartments. In 2003 el Cable was passed onto Sisco’s Sons: Francesc and Manel, the families third generation in the business. From then on, el Cable has gone from strength to strength, it has been updated and modernised while still keeping the original style.Nowadays we are not only a little town’s bar: we are the bar of this town, a friendly local meeting point for many people in Sitges.
