On the recommendation of our local friend we dined at El Boira located in the Plaça de la Independència. We weren't disappointed. Our table was on the waterside of the ground floor section. We went with the set price three course option and chose the excellent Pica Pica for starters. Our mains and deserts also show cased some fine Catalan... More

In a weekend of serious shopping, we picked this restaurant as it was close to our hotel and the set menu looked tasty. Very nice meal with very good pica pica starter which was exceptional, main course very tasty and dessert choice good. Waiter went the extra mile, checking out translations on the Internet. He worked very hard to ensure... More

I have to admit that this place is perfectly located as well as having amazing views over the river. The food is good but if you happen to be on the second floor, the service is inconsistent. We were in the restaurant for two hours and we didn't manage to finish the set menu. We were ready to order dessert... More

From Tapas to dinner this restaurant is very busy serving up some great regional food. The venue was very busy but kept moving people through with ease. The wait staff were accommodating and handled this non Catalonian speaking aussie with respect. very much worth visiting

Plaza Independiente is full of places to eat so it's hard to work out which to pick. After circulating the square one full time, we plumped for Boira, mainly because of a review in a very old Rough Guide that we had with us. Unlike most people, we ate inside as outside on the plaza was v noisy and we... More

We visited this restaurant on our first night in Girona on a recommendation from a rough guide to Spain. We wandered up to Boira, which is situated in a busy plaza full of restaurants. There were two parts to the restaurant; the tapas bar (which was full) and the main part. We were keen to try the tapas menu, as... More

Slow service and food not fresh, had to return a simple salad. It's a pity because was a great restaurant in the past. Luckily the waiter was very friendly.

We ate here twice during our stay, choosing a total of 11 tapas dishes and every single one was divine. Our chocolate fondant was also excellent. The staff were friendly and very kind, the atmosphere was lively in the Placa de la independencia and I would certainly go again!

Late Saturday night heading up to the Placa de la Independencia I had no idea what to expect, and was met by a wall of cheerful chatter, a blaze of light, and a wonderful social scene. Without much thought I sat down at the first place that looked good, and ordered a quick and well priced three course dinner with... More

I dropped by on a midweek evening, they serve tapas all day but the set menu from 8pm, so as I was a little early I had a small beer outside. The service was very attentive, and promptly I was given an English menu on time. For €20 you get a 3 course meal with fresh bread & bottled water.... More
