Beautiful seating and very comfortable. Attentive efficient service. Excellent ingredients. Had the sirloin stake with pepper sauce which was very good. My sister had the duck with pears and was delighted with it. Deserts were equal standard Will go again

Decided to eat here during a recent visit to Girona. We had a number of tapas between us rather than the set lunchtime menu. The meal was a total disappointment and we left feeling cheated. The calamari was inedible as it mainly consisted of a greasy coating with the merest of calamari. The caprese salad was minute with the smallest... More

This restaurant was recommended by the guy at the hotel and has favourable reviews on TA. I can say it was the very worst experience of dining out during our time in Girona. Walked into the restaurant to ask for a table and were conspicuously ignored by the sullen-faced waiters. Only when a female (manager?) appeared were we offered a... More

We ate on a Saturday evening, having only just arrived in the city. A plate of Iberica Ham, some Chicken Croquettes, some Salt Cod, a few beautiful Lamb Cutlets, a couple of Crema Catalana - all washed down with a couple of beers and coffee. All for ‎€53! Very good value indeed.

A really sumptuous feast. We enjoyed a range of dishes, with the paella being particularly popular amongst some of our group. For a number of reasons we will DEFINITELY be coming back...

Recommended by hotel staff for lunch and Casa Marieta did not disappoint. Nice position on the square, with good place settings, attentive service and good size portions.

On a very hot Sunday in Girona, my husband and I discovered Casa Marieta, where we enjoyed a table overlooking the square. After cooling off with a couple of cold beers, we decided to explore the menu of traditional Spanish cuisine. Our waiter was so personable and helpful, that we ended up trying several dishes. Our favorite was a Catalan... More

Exceptional food and service, have no doubts about the touristy location. Lamb shoulder especially highly recommended.

Great location, nice traditional dining room, friendly staff. They're the positives. We went here because some friends enjoyed their meal a few months ago, but we thought it was really average. The white asparagus starter seemed like it was from a jar, and it highlighted that despite what looks like a lot of kitchen staff, there's not really much cooking... More

We were able to enjoy outdoor dining on the beautiful Plaza. Our food was superb...I had hake fish TWICE and it was amazing. We had great appetizers of Vegetable Cake and a Pasta Cannelloni that was one of the best foods I've ever eaten! They offered specials of the day at reduced prices...these specials are also on the regular daily... More

Description
Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols.

Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome.

The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made.

Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square.

Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
