We ate here 3 times. Excellent food and service. Best restaurant in the square. Recommended to us by our hotel. Cannot recommend Casa Marieta enough. Go there.

Great service as well. The food was good but very much on the generous side - too much to eat! The Catalan wine was an excellent recommendation and much less expensive than I was expecting. Recommended.

I choose that restaurant after reading the various opinions but honestly I didn't remain satisfy. As dishes I chose Monkfish with Garlic and Parsley, wasn't cooked very well and wasn't tasty at all. The white wine product by the same restaurant wasn't good. My friend chose the squid and was much better.

Great service, great food. We really enjoyed eating a full range of starters and mains, all of us enjoyed it incl. children. Great wine suggestions. Great speciality dish, shoulder of lam. Tuna main was really enjoyed as well. Order some vegetables on the side though. These people know what they are doing, excellent price / quality.

A great place to eat. It opens at 8 pm and be there on time every table was full by the time the clock struck 8. The food was top class and the Sangria was great too.

The food was ok, the service rather slow. They were not rude but not so friendly either. They forgot to bring one dish and it took us 10 minutes to flag someone down to go get it. Our hotel recommended this but I was rather underwhelmed.

This is the second time in two years that we have been here as a group of friends. Great food at great prices. Fantastic service at ridiculously low prices. Slap bang in the middle of a city and there's not one vino rosado on the wine list priced at more than €10!!

The food was delicious. Staff very friendly. I can't judge about the dessert because I appeared to have ordered cheese cake...wich I don't like that much

We liked it so much here we visited two nights in a row. It's on the main square - Indepencia - and we were amazed by how much food we got and for how little. One night I had an 800g steak (!) which was cooked to perfection, my partner had a salad, we each had a starter, a dessert... More

Description
Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols.

Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome.

The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made.

Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square.

Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
