About
Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols. Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome. The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made. Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square. Crossing

Recommended by our hotel, no idea why! Staff were fine but the ambience was Benidorm in 1972 including the James Last and Richard Clayderman! Food was terrible. White asparagus is just green asparagus that's never seen the light of day and our starter shold have...More

Catalan snails were AMAZING. What is in that sauce! I also ordered the selection of pate and omg amazing. I ordered the cuttlefish which was ok - the cuttlefish was cooked perfectly but unsure about the overcooked peas. Sauce needed a bit more umami. Great...More

Very nice and comfortable place, beautiful and traditional furniture. The staff was very kind. All the dishes in the menu seem delicious. The ones that we tasted were tasty. We'll absolutely repeat this restaurant whenever we go to Girona with some friends.

Excellent place to eat. Good choice of food at reasonable prices and good service. The choice of wine is good and amazing value. Indoor area is beautifully decorated and provides a lovely atmosphere. Good outside terrace for warmer weather.

Typical Girona restaurant. Standard Catalan fare. Good service and not outrageously expensive. A great place to take your mother. Dependable.
