Eating Spanish food is an enperience. You are served and finish at your own pace. The meals are creative both in presentation and taste. And always save room for the desert. We started with the iberico Jason, croquet as, and mussels. I had the duck with grilled vegetable (with Catalan Romesco sauce). My wife had the grilled filet with green... More

Just in the middle of the city (independence square) you can eat the cooking of the catalan grandmother. Snails, enxovas de l'escala....

This has a very pleasant situation on Placa Independencia, with a good atmosphere in the evening. Service was pleasant and efficient, and the food, with starters of gazpacho and croquettes, then mains of monkfish and duck with figs, was all delicious. Desserts were also lovely especially whisky cake. We actually had a further night in Girona en route back to... More

Service was slow and inattentive. They were out of several dishes. Food, just average. Cannot get the waitress to finish our bill.

A very easy choice for a lovely summer dinner. Great setting, very quick and attentive service. We had croquettes (ham) the roasted vegetables for a light dinner and both were excellent. Somewhat limited wine by the glass choices, but the options available were fine, so this wasn't a problem at all.

This lovely restaurant in Independance Square in Girona serves good home made food. We ate here twice and enjoyed the food and the ambience of this bustling area of Girona.

Came to Casa Marieta on a Monday at lunchtime. They do not offer any menus, but this is probably for the best! Individual portions are very well balanced, and Catalan cuisine is very well represented. From 'Pollastre amb escamarlans' (a main dish of meat and seafood) to esqueixada, through the classical 'Canelons' that will excite children and adults alike. House... More

We went here on the first night we spent in Girona. It is located in Independence Square, which is in the center of town. We sat outside and enjoyed our meal of duck and lamb. The wine was extremely reasonable. I think we spent 4.5 E for a half bottle. Some reviews claimed it was on the expensive side, but... More

Had a very enjoyable family meal here. Shoulder of lamb delicious. Meat just fell off the bone. My wife had salt cod which was succulent and a generous cut.

Casa Marieta was founded in 1892, at the same time as the first stage of the modernist movement (the end of the 19th century) and the opening of the old narrow gauge train line between Girona and St. Feliu de Guixols.

Ever since, Casa Marieta has offered its customers home cooking based on tradition and a familiar welcome.

The Catalan sense of tradition is evident in all the dishes currently on the menu: chicken with crayfish, roast lamb, duck with pears, sepia with peas... All home-made.

Restaurant Casa Marieta is located on the emblematic Placa Independencia, in the beautiful city centre of Girona. The cathedral, which has the widest Gothic nave in the world, can be seen from the Square.

Crossing the stone bridge over the River Onyar, you enter the heart of the old city which has a historic relationship with the Jewish community: the Jewish Call and Torre Gironella.
