My spouse and I went here for dinner last Friday. It started out ok---we were only 1 of 2 parties there, and we were promptly seated. We ordered their expensive tasting option (+wine), and wine immediately started to appear. Our glasses were refilled after a while, but after that things went downhill, and an hour and half drifted by while... More

Have visited Cata 1.81 many times in the past, always pleased with creative tapas and nice atmosphere. But I had not realized the change in ownership. I visit was an utter disappointment bordering on outrage. We had only 4 small plates, but it took more than an hour and a half to be served, with 20 minutes between each plate.... More

Visited this place on a Wednesday night based on various positive reviews. The restaurant is now known as Grinson Trade SL, as indicated on the receipt, although the sign outside still reads Cata.181. First hint was that the place was empty. When asked for a wine list, the waiter/bartender responded that they only carry one brand of house white or... More

Small and trendy wine and tapas bar in Barcelona. Very unassuming but worth a visit. Tapas and small dishes on offer presented in a new and deconstructed way. All dishes were delicious. No misses! I loved the mini burgers with quail eggs and the macaroni dish with a local sauce. The ham is not to be missed! The wines we... More

It's a new experience! "Platillos" between tapas and dish. Very original with chicken pequin, steak tartare like a principal dishes. If you want enjoy a good time eating is a good recommendation.

Went on a recommendation that this was one of the best wine bars in the city. Greatly disappointing. The wine menu had a very limited selection and not even great wines at that. The bartender did not know much about the wines and when I asked for a taste she poured a whole glass. It was not very good and... More

Cute, highly recommended cava bar. It was a surprise to have only one cava by the glass. The tapas were delicious. The tortilla fantastic with truffle, the cod delightful. Some of the best in Bcn.

Loved the prix fixe menu, especially the Russian salad. Casual, comfortable room with great food and a hip vibe. Not a tourist spot.

Description
In vino veritas. You can find a fine selection of wines for any occasion. We offer a unique collection of wines from all over the world. Try our wines, you can find some of those answers that linger in your mind, perhaps... Carpe diem, quam minimum credula postero. We want you to enjoy every moment at our restaurant. You'll find yourself in a caring atmosphere where people come to enjoy life and celebrate it... Dum viviumus, vivamus. The greeks always divided time in two different words - chronos & kairos. One meant "chronological time" the other "moments that we live intensely". We are more of the latter...

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
