The food was too salty or too sweet (depends on the fish we ordered) and it was, unfortunately, extremely expensive. The waiters could not speak English. Most dishes were not good to say the least. Skip this restaurant! The worst we experienced in Barcelona.

Great place. Smart dining room by the port. Simple starters of red peppers and spectacular iberico cured ham. Bottle of Albariño. Huge plates of seafood paella. Wine & food was delicious. Recommended.

We all shared a wet rice dish and a dry rice dish. Traditional Catalan food. Rich broth. Rice perfectly cooked. Succulant seafood. Wonderful.

The most amazing paella I've ever tried! Sangria, fish and service was good too, a must visit in Barcelona!

I went there based on a recommendation of a friend. I was traveling with someone who's an inspiring chef and wants his future cuisine to mirror the wonders of Espana. The atmosphere is very quaint. It's right off the main strip. The hours of operation are much different than your normal restaurant so plan accordingly. I was starving but I'm... More

The restaurant has history and at times you have a feeling that the history penalises it a little bit. Some of the staff have been there for a long time and you can feel it. A part from that, everything else is neat, excellent and enjoyable. Paella is excellent and you might have a tough time finishing it (i eat... More

We came here in search of the perfect Paella, as recommended by theculturetrip.com. The price of paella on the menu is per person, minimum order for 2 people – I don’t know why they don’t just put the price for two… We think the restaurant knows their paella is popular, because when we were ready to order, the waiter asked... Of the restaurants i have been to in Barcelona. This was probably the worst. The receptiom was cold and degrading. Would not recommend if you are planning to try the food

The anchovies were the greatest we've ever had, and we've had some in various places...! The fish (grilled hake) superb. And the boss offered us a copa of the cocktail he'd made for the next table's Asian guests. He called it "sangria cama" or something like that. I watched him prepare it. I can't tell what there was in it... More

This is a great restaurant, much used by the locals and as such, booking may be required to ensure a table. The food is delightful, with exceptionally good seafood, paella, we especially oved the black noodles. The service was excellent and the cost were within reason for such a great restaurant.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
