After being recommended this restaurant from a local, we checked on here for past reviews for an overview, as this same local had recommended good restaurants previously. In summary, a lot of the reviews stated the food was good, however there is a significant number that mention poor service. We experienced the latter... We arrived a few minutes before opening... We were recommended this restaurant, although we had seen that it has mixed reviews. It was very quiet when we arrived and we sat outside. We asked for the house paella and a bottle of Chardonnay. Of the say 4-5 Chardonnays on the wine list, we were told only the most expensive (about twice the price of the others) was... More

This is a place to avoid! Makes Faulty Towers look good!! Where can I start.... 1) they said none of the wines on the list were available except the really expensive ones (eventually they found one) 2) they said the house paella was unavailable - we would have to upgrade to sea cucumber or lobster. We said no and that... More

We've been coming to this restaurant for years, and every time it seems to get better! I can't believe some people describe the paella as salty risotto, I've never had a risotto that comes near this for flavour - deep rich seafood taste with lovely chunks of lobster and squid. It's a real treat restaurant, and as such I never... More

Paella was great and well priced (€36), but I feel we've been ripped off when asked to pay €30 for a hot appetiser of baby octopus cooked in an onion sauce. It was not a big portion either - problem is that the portion was not priced in the menu, but was priced by the weight and you only see... More

The waiter at the begining was a little bit rude but through the course of the meal he got nicer. It was he best paella I've eaten in Barcelona, you noticed that the ingredients were fresh and had an amazing flavor but I went with my mom and for a paella and a starter and it was basically $60. Sooo... More

Have no idea what people are talking about there? The best paella? Please, it was bland and lacked enough seafood, while being jacked up in price especially for a place many blocks back from the beach. The staff were also unfriendly. Go elsewhere.

The worst experience ever in BCN. Being there for lunch a couple of weeks ago with a guest. The owner was very rude as well as the waiter. The quality of the food was below the average of the touristic restaurants in BCN and the price very high. 4 people, 1 bottle of local wine, mussels (very small portion for... More

This was amazing food! We had their signature paella and it was gorgeous. My sister doesn't even like fish and she ate like her life depended on it. Very nice waiting staff as well, we had some good laughs with them!

Unfortunately I have nothing good to say about this restaurant and it comes down to the complete and utter rudeness by one of their staff members. We made a reservation for dinner, 3 of us, so we could enjoy what was "one of the best paellas" in Barcelona. After being seated, we over looked the menu and realized how expensive... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
