Where to start . Terrible is a appropriate word. 1. The owner greeted us with Are You Eating - I said just drink please. He said no food no table. So I agreed to eat . Ordered the Spanish omelette as we are in spain and have enjoyed this local dish alot in other restaurants. What I was served was... More

The food was not very good, not tasty and quite expensive for the amount of food we had in the plates. The waitress wants you to order more tapas, even if it was enough for us, plus she gave us tomato bread without telling us it was 3€..... Avoid this place, there are plenty of other pleasant places to eat... More

We had a reservation for 21:30 which had to be postponed to 22:00, we were the only group and felt so bad they were staying open just for us! We ordered different dishes and got some appetizers; everybody was satisfied and full (including desserts). Authentic local food, but be advised that the menu was in Catalan only.

Mr cheesy moustache took an instant disliking to us. Their were several empty tables but just wanting a drink seemed to put them out for some reason. No worries, he said he would 'allow' it. So, 15 minutes later when they took our order (by this time we were in it for the long haul) we got our drinks, to... More

Don't get fooled by the hype of Bar Central inside Bokeria or any of the other tapas joints in the market, step outside the market and get the best for less. We were in Barcelona for a week and we had some of our best and least expensive tapas at Papitu.

Expensive, bad service and over cooked tuna that was completely drowned in garlic. The salad was equally drowned in salt and oil. Quite expensive too given we stopped for a lunch.

We stumbled upon Restaurante Papitu after visiting the La Boqueria market. We didn't want to stand and eat in the Boqueria or sit at the crowded counters, and found Papitu in a square to the right of the market. We both ordered ham and cheese sandwiches (sandwiches only available until 12:30), and they were very good. The ham was tasty... More

Literally fell into this little restaurant after visiting the market at lunchtime. Looked popular, a good sign. Food is fabulous. Try the squid with dish of garlic potatoes ...food of the Gods. Drink with cold lager. We sat outside...watching the world go by..superb.

We visited the market and as all the eating areas were busy walked down side street and found this restaurant the staff were helpful one man was a little sharp. We ordered a selection of tapas and drinks which came pretty quickly and were ok to good. Great place for people watching

Recently visited this place. The waiter was new on board, so he was kind. However, the rest of the staff were unpolite. The paella was poorly provided of seafood but still very expensive compared to other places.

Staying in El Raval

Neighborhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
