The waiter did not now what the courses contained. When I asked I had to help her from the menu. I ordered the Dublin baked prawns, and they served a pan filled with "cocked" prawns. Tasteless and salty. I had to go somewhere else afterwords cause I was still hungry after a 40€ meal. My white ordered monkey fish soup.... More

Nice restaurant on the sea front serving tapas and main meals. We were seated in the outdoor area under linked parasols which had intermittent water spray, which was nice at first but became a tad tedious, we shared a sea food paella and 1/2 bottle of house white wine, the paella was very tasty but a little shy on sea... Enjoyed a lovely paella type dish here the day we arrived in Barcelona - excellent rosé wine, great rice and noodles, excellent seafood

Extremely poor service, very expensive food / poor quality. Music way too loud (poor sound system pushed high), The waiter (a guy) could not speak English (all the customers were foreigners), gave us the eye when he saw our pram, Had to hail him often on few occasions for basic things (water, menus, the bill, etc) Nothing really fresh there,... We had a party of 4 and a diverse order including salt bake sea bass and the entrecôte of beef. Excellent options for both. The paella was also fantastic! I'll be back for sure!

We visited the restaurant on the Easter weekend where it was obviously really busy!!! We had to wait only 5mins to be seated on the terrace close to the sea!!!The sea bass that I had was brilliant and the salad was average. Excellent location we ended up drinking loads of alcohol there after our meal because of its great atmosphere!!!... More

We had a lunch in this restaurant right in the harbour. Outstanding view. It's a bit pricey but the food is not so bad. Haven't tried the paellas because we decided to order a few starters to share, something like clamps, pickled anchovies, sardines and sea snails. They have the option to get a half-portion but it isn't mentioned in... More

I have enjoyed the food, wines and atmosphere in Cal Pinxo Platja a few times, and I don't mind going there again. Enjoying delicious Mediterranean food while enjoying the view of the Mediterranean sea is just exhilarating. The menu is balanced, with a generous offer of fish, seafood and paellas. The paellas and fideuas are among the best in Barcelona.... More

This restaurant is a gigantic tourist trap. The food was horrible (overcooked or not fried at all), we discussed this with the manager, proposed him to taste the food himself (which he didn't want to) and arrived to an agreement (to leave without having to pay the bill). A restaurant to avoid by all means!

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
