After dinner on Saturday night we were in Ginger with friends - enjoying excellent drinks at their usual very democratic prices. It's a quirky building, on different levels, with entrances from the two adjacent streets. We found the seating, ambience and music perfect - and only left for our hotel after a couple of drinks each. When outside we were... More

We were looking for somewhere for an after dinner drink and found this bar/cafe tucked away up a one of the many small side alleyways. Some people may be put off from trying it as it looks very small from the outside but it has a lower ground floor and a small first floor area. It turns out that the... More

We stumbled across this bar whilst wandering the area. It had so much character and was a great place to catch up with friends!

If you like jazz music then this would be ideal. The night we were there, only 2 other people in. The music was so loud we could hardly have a conversation. Staff seemed be enjoying it more that the customers. It would have been fine if the place was full but should have been turned down, spoilt our evening. We... More

We found this just by chance. Was empty (which was good!), so we got seats. The ambience is perfect. It's in a little street with lots of charm. The place has a good menu, specialising mostly in cocktails and wines. If you're nearby, I would certainly give it a visit.

Came here after googling something along the lines of 'hidden gems in barcelona' and this place being recommended. Only stayed for 1 cocktail since we had a dinner reservation but we were impressed and thought the drinks were good value- around 6.50 for a cocktail. Was quite tightly packed and dark inside but I think that was just the vibe... More

I always go here when I visit Barca. It's a real hidden gem with decor. Owner is really friendly at happy to chat in quiet times. Late night or the cool season are best times to visit for atmosphere and crowds or early evening (for Barca) for peace and a quiet drink in great surroundings.

This bar is located in a small street and doesn't look like anything, but once you enter you here upbeat jazz, the interior is retro and the drinks are great! Cocktails ranges from 4 - 7 € euros.

This bar can be considered as one of those "secret hotspots". Hidden in one of the alleys in Gothic Quarter, Ginger is by far my favourite cocktail bar around the globe. With the owner coming from the UK, and the staff being locals, Ginger is able to offer lovely, tasty cocktails. Do you want your cocktails sweeter? No problem, the... More

Small bar, great music, lovely staff, fantastic if simple tapas menu. Would freely recommend. Great way to start your exploration of the Gothic quarter being a short walk from Jaume 1 metro station.

Thank Andrew C

Ginger, in the heart of the Gothic quarter. Has two entrances: one leads into a cocktail bar and the other, a wine-tasting bar. We also offer deliicious home-made tapas and weekly specials using the very best and freshest ingredients.

Low-lighting, good music (including vinyl record nights) and a retro, mellow interior makes Ginger a bar with many possibilities: where you can choose just to sit and enjoy a cocktail, a beer, a gin and tonic, a glass of wine or sample our cooking, rated by our visitors as the best in town......
