This is not just a cafe serving cakes and Pastries. It also has an attached shop selling local produce. Good place to shop for local products to bring back home.

I wish I could find an equivalent in every city I visit... Caelum was an extraordinary experience. It is a small, elegant tea shop in a beautiful angle of Old Barcelona, in a maze of narrow streets. Caelum offers delicacies from all Spain, most of them prepared by nuns from convents all over the country. The pastries and cakes are... More

Favourite find in Barcelona!! Lovely ambience. Cakes were brilliant, just followed staff recommendations and did not disappoint. Great beers on the menu too.

We had just had nice tapas on our first day in Barcelona. We decided to close with coffee and cake. No better place than Caelum - great chocolate cake, good coffee - a real treat in a beautiful shop! Definitely worth the visit.

This Teashop was a real find; gorgeous cakes, cosy atmosphere with glorious cover versions of an Ella Fitzgerald sound alike playing discretely in the background.........sublime To

We had some time to kill before making our way to the airport so we stopped in this tea room in the Gothic Quarter for some tea and cake. Everything looked delicious but we eventually settled on a slice of chocolate cake and a strawberry tart. Both were completely delicious. The atmosphere was lovely with people of all ages enjoying... We enjoyed some wonderful tea here at 9pm on a Saturday evening when most self-respecting tea rooms are firmly closed. It's a glorious oasis of calm with utterly delightful staff. Wonderful range of cakes and pastries. The decor is understated and beautifully lit. Adjacent to the dining area is a shop with the most beautifully packaged sweetmeats, honey, olive oil... More

Caelum is an extraordinary place! When your are inside it is hard to choose between plenty of little boxes of sweets handmaded by poor clares. You can enjoy tea, chocolate and beers with fabolous cakes.

Neighborhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighborhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
