Simply amazing flavours! You’re enjoying some great food together with locals. “Simple” but quick and friendly service.

Small seafood and tapas restaurant with an authentic Catalan experience. Food was fantastic, specially the “bombas” a kind of croqueta and the squid.

We had intended to arrive early but overslept, and so I expected a really long wait for a table (it was about 1.30) but as we arrived the guy on the door asked if we wanted to sit outside, and then started setting four tables...up out there, so we waited maybe ten minutes at most. Service is really quick. The menu is on a board inside. We just asked the server to bring us what was good. We had bread with tomato, bombas (unbelievably good - we ended up ordering more), octopus, cod in tomato sauce, grilled squid. There were no sardines and no shellfish available - maybe it was a Monday thing. Everything was indescribably good, with the squid and octopus being meltingly tender. So glad we made it here.More

We loved it! Amazing food with great prices. Octopus with onions is amazing!! It is visited by locals a lot which is a good sign for us. It is a local bistro with amazing food but don’t expect fancy, expect flavor!

This is a little crowded restaurant, so you should go hungry, eat fast and leave because there is a line of people in front of the door. But everything we tried (suggested by the lovely waitress) was so tasty! Highly recommended place!

We visited this little gem on a monday morning, around 11am. Service was fast, food was simple but delicious. We ordered the bomba, grilled calamari, sardines (wonderful!), squid stew. I noticed that they did not use olive oil in their cooking, I wonder why. Digging...bread into vegetable oil is not a mediteranean thing!More

We ate here on a Saturday at around 12:30, and there was already a queue to get in, it was a pretty chaotic scene. You give a gentleman your name and wait to be called, just make sure you don’t disappear too far as you...literally have 2 seconds to respond to your name before he moves on down the list and you miss your spot. There aren’t a lot of waiters, and we waited 30 minutes for our wine to arrive and for our food order to be taken. But honestly, it was worth the wait. The grilled calamari was unbelievable, as was the La Bombas and Butifarra. Absolutely worth the visit, just be prepared to sit tight for a bit :)More

A renowned tapas bar in the charming Barceloneta, although not the usual tapas you might think of. We first heard of this place in a documentary about Ferran Adriá - the iconic Spanish chef eats here. This old school place mainly serves small portions of...seafood dishes. Cod bueñuelos, different preparatrions of squid, octopus and mollusks make up the menu, which hangs on the wall. It’s a family run business and very casual. The patronage is a mix of hipster tourists and senior locals that have been coming here for fresh seafood all their lives. The menu is simple, yet mouthwatering. This place claims to have invented the bomba, which is a croquete made with smashed potatos instead of bechamel. They top it off with a very (Mexican hot) spicy salsa. We would definitely recommed coming early and not on a Monday, when not everything on the menu is available due to seafood delivery schedules. There is terrace service, but sitting inside is part of the charm. Best squid we ever had - grilled with garlic, oilive oil, salt, and parsley. Sometimes simple is better.More

Barcelona is a great city but nothing topped the meal at La Cova Fumada. We tried a ton of different things, thinking maybe something would not be great. We were wrong. Everything was great. It's packed, the staff are super friendly and funny, and its...well priced. I would easily repeat this experience on my next trip.More
