Less shiny than Boqueria market, but the bar-resto in it is a nice experience, welcoming, cooking tasty things in from of you, fresh products of course. All types of seafood and tapas in front of you. Not very expensive. Much less crowds! mostly for locals. must do!

We in England seem to have lost all our wonderful markets but they are thriving here and the selection of fresh produce was amazing. Fish, meat, cheese, fruits, vegetables, nuts, etc, etc. Magic. Go!

We took a cooking class in Barcelona, a wonderful experience at Canela Fina. Before the class, we strolled with one of our chefs, through the stalls of Santa Caterina's Market. It's a glorious market that used to be open aire and is now covered, as a permanent daily market of fresh fish, meats, vegetables, fruits, cheeses, and even an olive... More

Our apartment was just behind this market and we took advantage to buy fresh fruit and breads for an occasional breakfast during our stay in Barcelona. Lovely just to stroll through all the stalls.

Even though this place is full of tourists you must go here and get yourself some food or snacks. It is a nice food market with everything from chocolate to lobsters. Enjoy.

Beautiful clean market, much better than Boqueria. We had a paella there and it was delicious. It is worth the visit.

This market has a different, relaxed vibe compared to the hustle-and-bustle crowds of other markets. We took our time sampling the cheeses, meats and hams here. We chatted with the vendors on their goods and they were very helpful. You couldn't really connect with folks at the other crowded market. Since it is a relatively new market, the whole place... Range of fresh juices, first class fruits, cheeses and meats. All so cleanly displayed. We arrived late in the day, about1900, and a lot of the merchandise is offered at a discount price. Well worth the visit!

When we stayed in Barcelona we rented a room in an apartment therefore we did a lot of buying food here to eat at home. The market place is vibrant and beautiful. Perfectly situated in the centre of the old town. The vendors are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious, fresh and very well-priced. In particular we loved:... More

Great place to do your weekly shopping, or to take a coffee or a quick snack. It is cleaner, cheaper and more quiet than the famous Boqueria Mercat. You can easily spend hours in this place!
