The paella was OK. Expected more. The seafood on the other hand, very delicious. We asked for vodka drinks and they were great!

This restaurant was going flat out on our lunchtime visit. Our waiter was helpful and patient as we speak very basic Spanish. Good choice of menu although mainly fish specialties. All dishes we had from clams to turbout and chicken were faultless. Wine and beer was reasonable. Mostly local customers and quite a loud buzz but we enjoyed and would... More

Recommended by friends. We may have gone to wrong place... We were the only ones in a huge place. The calamari was fresh but something was missing... nothing special. The paella was equally flat. Will not recommend this.

A traditional restaurant. No exciting preparations, but good and fresh seafood. The wine list isn't very exciting either. Service good by experienced waiters. A busy place, good atmosphere.

Lunch was so nice and food was delicious. Maybe a bit noisy. Cost is reasonable if you ask for typical paella. Otherwise, it's a bit expensive.

Long established restaurant, full of locals who know good fish when they see it. Very friendly service and much higher quality than all the tourist traps nearby. Very reasonably priced for the quality. Great location near the promenade so as to walk off any excess afterwards!

In a street that almost all of the restaurants are just tourist traps with crapy food this one is the real thing Calculate €30 per head + wine Very nice paella and even a better black rice. Not giving 5 points because the desserts were not something special at all. Excellent service by professional waiters

We had a great meal seating in the sunshine. We went on a sunday in december. The place was buzzing with locals and tourists. The fish was fresh and well cooked, the wine was crisp and fruity. The service was efficient. we paid 89 euros for two people. One of a lovely memory of our trip.

This was the only restaurant which didn't have a person outside trying to drum up business - probably because they don't need to! The food was excellent and the atmosphere invoked eating on board a ship. The waiters were very attentive but not cloying and the menu was fresh and of the sea as expected.

Took a chance on this restaurant while walking past and wasn't disappointed. Don't let the main road location put you off, you won't even notice it. The service was good and the food was delicious. They advertised "Probably the best calamari in the world" and to be fair it was pretty good. Best in the world might be a bit... More

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighborhood Profile
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
