We were here for dinner a thursday evening. There was only a few people in the restaurant. The waiter was friendly. They have a good price for three courses. The food was ok, but nothing special. Good service.

I had the weekend "medio menu" (half fixed-price menu), which was one dish plus a drink and a dessert for 11.50€. The dish I chose was the curry, with tofu, seitan, amazing rice, perfectly cooked carrots and mushrooms and broccoli... very fresh and tasty. They give you a nice Papadum and bread (I'm sure homemade) with it too. The dessert... More

We reserved a table at Amaltea on line through Barcelona Bookings (very much recommended) - search for the restaurant and ask to reserve a table and you will automatically be directed to the sight. You will receive an email confirmation. The restaurant was about 2 miles from our hotel. A pleasant walk along well maintained, safe streets. There is a... More

I'm a chef, for us it's very hard to control our diet, we love to explore & experiment in cooking & eating, we want to try different varieties of food, one day one of my client decided to be vegetarian, ( I love vegetables) because I grow up in the province( Philippines) that's why we grow up eating all kinds... We went there with a bunch of friends (and a dog!). They were so nice that they made me eat in a special room so the dog could come with us. We ate the lunch menu (10.70) and everyone ordered different options. I tasted everything and I can garantee everything was tasty. Also we were so full that we couldn't... More

It is almost as if vegetarian food becomes religious here. A very soft and balanced athmosphere. The food is well prepared but not outstanding in any direction – more spices would have been appreciated. Or more surprises in the composition of the meals. The staff is friendly and speaks English. It is not expensive. No alcoholic drinks.

More

We ordered the quinoa soup and two pizzas. The soup was just like dirty water and the pizzas were frozen and not cooked. We could taste the yeast very strong. We told the waiter that the pizzas were not cooked and he put them back in the oven and brought them back instead of bringing us freshly cooked pizzas. Trying... More

After seeing this restaurant recommended in the Lonely Planet guide I went out of my way to try it. I wish I hadn't. For €15.30 you get three courses and a drink. I ordered the cream of greens soup, the seitan escalopes and the carrot and chocolate cake with sparkling water. I went just after opening, which meant I was... More

Staying in Eixample

Neighborhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognizable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognized architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
